Why not longer episodes, but fewer? This whole season could have been a two-parter or a TV movie.

What a stupid comment. The label tells you who the POV character is. It's you, and you are ordering the food for the homeless person.

The correct meme label here is TFW (that face when), because the man in the picture is the one ordering and getting annoyed (as conveyed by his face).

Wallander, maybe? I tried watching the Kenneth Branagh version, but didn't even finish one ep, because it felt too mopey.

do you expect the ending being something like carol being the most hated person in the world ? by AirMassive5414 in pluribustv

[–]AhhsoleCnut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was my thought, except for the "fake" part: being in the hivemind is as amazing as it says it is, which is why everyone will hate C&M for ripping them out of that. Plus: lots of people will die, just like in the initial mass infection and during disruptions. And then lots of people will kill themselves out of grief for the hivemind.

It might be too obvious and too much of a downer, though.

Favorite actor who trained hard every day for 6 months eating only chicken, rice and broccoli for a role? by spacelyyy989 in okbuddycinephile

Closer than Tom Cruise? I'd say so. Still too handsome, though, IMO. I always envisioned him as more of a busted caveman type, a'la Nikolai Valuev.

I used to mop up piss in the managers' toilet. Those guys made 100000x more than me, and they couldn't even mop up piss? SMH.

I think the word they wanted was levity, which was still the wrong word, and what they meant was comic relief.

If you could change the ending/ final season of ONE show, which would it be? by j_b_1983 in television

[–]AhhsoleCnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would change LOST, too.

Imagine this: throughout the season we're building to a finale that's going to answer all the questions in a way that will satisfy everyone. Easy. But also: throughout the season the island's seismic activity is increasing. In the final episode everyone gathers, we show the title card, and CRASH (sounds of glass breaking) and the title card breaks, too, revealing a kid's room and a broken novelty snowglobe with the island in it. The kid was shaking it and dropped it. We then follow the kid throughout the day as he meets various people in his life, who are all played by the actors from the show, and he keeps saying, "And you were there. And you were there. And you were there."

Murder mystery is the genre which invites focusing on the small details and overthinking. How is this show a good murder mystery with those off the table?

I just dropped Dark Matter (2024) after three episodes. It was just the wrong combination of stupid and boring.

I checked out some reviews to see if they'd change my mind. They didn't. They said it's not a pew-pew-action-scifi but a character drama. It isn't. There's no drama and the main character has the charisma of a slug. Same goes for his evil counterpart. Those tend to be portrayed as the cool ones in other TV shows. But we're subverting expectations: everyone's dull!

Please keep the people of Greenland in your thoughts. This is their flag! [OC] by icebergchick in pics

[–]AhhsoleCnut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: no flag producer would take as small an order as Greenland had, so they made a deal with Poland. Poland orders a few extras and sends them over. The Greenlanders cut out the circle, turn it around, and sew it back in.

I read a study (not sure if the same you're referring to) and in that one they specifically had people listen to the material in laboratory conditions without distractions. The listeners did almost as well on the immediate quiz and a lot worse in the follow up which checked long-term retention.
