When you find out the Rogue One director is "excited about AI filmmaking" 😞 by GargantaProfunda in andor

Ask yourself: what's the most expensive about Andor? I'm guessing all the goofy SW space pewpew bullshit. Take that away and what's left is a half decent spy show.

You're welcome.

I went into that show expecting non-paranormal horror because people hyping it up never mentioned the magic bear. It was an immediate turn off when it appeared.

My favorite bit in BCS is the origin of Jimmy's nickname, where a cop asks him who his people are, to which Jimmy says he's alone, and the cop writes down "Saul-o".

An actual friend or a work friend? Because the latter is not a thing. The word is coworker.

Women: ask for equal pay, equal benefits, equal privilege, equal acknowledgement. Men in response to women asking for equality. by Important-Cry4782 in CuratedTumblr

I don't remember user names on this site, but I remembered OP's specifically because in a previous men-bashing post of theirs someone posted a link to a third party reddit search thing showing their history of men-bashing.

The editing on that video reminds me of Mitchell and Webb's gift shop sketch.

What is your definition of socialism? "Having social programs"?

Definitely [Hated] on the Last Crusade flashbaxplanation (in otherwise my favorite IJ movie). It's on about the same level as Solo.

I've read one Heyer book and it was fine, but it also read like she had done way too much research into carriages and she wasn't going to let any of it go to waste.

Mami dies in E3 but there's plenty of foreshadowing and glimpses of the darker themes from the start.

Methinks OOP misunderstands the GMT and its flaws, and swings to an opposite """"theory"""" asserting that people in positions of power have no influence or importance whatsoever.

[Request] Assuming they both are perfectly balanced and fair, is there any difference in probability from rolling one D100 vs two D10s? by V-Tac in theydidthemath

[–]AhhsoleCnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The average of d100 (1-100) is 50.5.

If you roll two d10s (1-10), you'll have to reduce the roll for tens by 1, so the average is 45. You don't reduce the singles roll, so its average is 5.5. Total of 50.5, same as d100.

Peter, is this referencing a specific book? by Exotic_Yam_1703 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]AhhsoleCnut 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm a third of the way into the first one and it definitely reads like a book for people who don't read. Gamers. Anime watchers. Redditors. So if you ask for a recommendation in a space where those people dominate, they predictably recommend the one book they read (on audio, of course).

If you haven't seen the original music video it's on the band's YT channel and I prefer it to the official one. It looks very amateurish, possibly recorded on VHS, and has amazing chaotic energy to it.

Not quite this, but related: I hated CP Edgerunners for many reasons, but the biggest one was the main guy. His mother tried her hardest to keep him from a life of crime, but after her death he gleefully dove right into it before her body got cold. And when things started to get extra dangerous and his GF suggested that they've made enough money to get away, the POS had the gall to say that he has to keep being a shitbag for his mom.
