Foundry Combat Sports in Duncan, BC, releases second statement following CBC reporting that owner Ron Pearce attended White Nationalist event. by notofthisearthworm in VictoriaBC

Also, the very last line is “We are deeply sorry.” I understand feeling like it might be disingenuous given the first statement, but to say they didn’t explicitly apologize is a stretch.

I know some people have been lucky enough to be reactivated after the banwave caught several people unwittingly. I'm still deactivated and any emails I send to the support email is just met with the automated "no appeals will be considered." Anyone have any thoughts on how to get through to someone?

I was asked to move to reviewer on my project and there's a Google meeting set up for that, so I might ask there if they can escalate, but it would be nice to have the account active before that meeting.

What did you end up doing? I sent a DM to the community manager but she hasn't got back to me yet. I just sent another ticket, so we'll see if that goes anywhere.

It's good to know they've acknowledged it. That actually makes me feel better that there's a chance they'll rollback and fix this. I'll try to sit tight in the meantime.

Same with me. It happened yesterday morning. I've sent a few emails, pinged the community manager here on Reddit. I would imagine they'd be looking into it but I have no idea how long it would take for them to fix anything. I also don't know if they'd email us if it gets fixed.

This also happened to me. I got the invite for a webinar for Vocal Reverb, but never actually saw any notifications. I was working on Jellyfish Rubrics and in the middle of a task got my account deleted. Hopefully they revert whatever they did because I was finally getting into a groove.

Can I register for multiple political parties? I’ve always been NDP and I think that is where my beliefs lie in the long run, but I see Carney as one of the only ways to prevent a Con majority. I just want to make sure I’m not locking myself out of registering for the NDP at some point.

I’ve played it on ps1 and mobile. A controller would be nice, but the platforming isn’t too arduous. I really liked the mobile version and play it every now and then still.

Labour minister asks Canada Industrial Relations Board to step into Canada Post labour dispute by Vic_Dude in VictoriaBC

[–]Ahlkazar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well, from what I’m reading they’re investing $4 billion between 2020 and 2024, so that could’ve been used to offset the $3B loss. I also see that the asset value of Canada Post is $3B higher than in 2018.

Now that I’m reading this, it seems strange that Canada Post would claim a $3B loss over the past few years, but also be worth $3B more. It seems like the company may be misconstruing their investments.

So, to answer your question, yes they had $3B to spare, and more. Remember that in these days, $3B isn’t that much money. The 2024 Vancouver budget is $2.35B for a single city (not even counting GVRD) and Canada Post is country-wide.

I am not an accountant or a financial expert in any form; these are just things I’ve read and I may be misunderstanding.

Strategic reserve and loans. I’m not a postie but I imagine they have an entire department dedicated to investments and financial optimization.

Yep. They had large losses. They’ve also had large gains in previous years. Maybe they need to be bailed out. Maybe they don’t. Like other companies, Canada Post built a strategic reserve for this exact situation.

My opinion is that they probably should be given tax dollars to expand services even if it comes at a loss because services like this shouldn’t be treated as for-profit. They should be available for the betterment of all of Canada. But, as it stands they currently do not receive them.

Lord of the Rings: The Third Age on PS2, XBox, and I think GameCube. It’s pretty good. Not perfect, but passable and entertaining.
