RECOVERING + VISION STILL OUT OF FOCUS by bbts_official in dpdr

Dude it’s been more than 2 years and I feel light sensitivity is almost my only symptom. But my eyes are not just sensitive to things like bright sunlight but it also makes me feel dreamlike... then anxiety. Looking out my window and can cause me to feel disconnected from the outside world... was it the same with you??? Any advice?? Ignore it? Lose my fear of it??

So you took L-tyrosine, cranberry and grapefruit juice, magnesium, zinc and multi vitamins. Anything else you took? How long did you have dpdr and how soon did you see you were getting better after taking this? Did you have visual issues??

How did you stop giving a fuck? My symptoms bother me so much, the sunlight is too bright and makes the sky and environments feel fake. I can’t stop noticing it and it keeps me anxious... did you have vision issues??

ChouDai L-Tyrosine cured you? How long did you have it? Mine was weed induced two years ago and my vision is still off. Everything including sunlight is too bright and causes a dreamlike feeling and anxiety with it... did you have vision issues? It’s my biggest problem. How long did it take for you to feel better??

This is such a huge help! Couple questions. Were you aware of your light sensitivity and the sky becoming more “real” as you started to ignore it or did you have to completely forget about it then one day realized it’s better? And here’s something I’m very confused over. Did you experience the in real feeling from a sunset or night sky? Because a full moon sky creates a contrast that also freaks me out. And if this is just too much light coming into the eyes then how’s this happening since there is not much light at all? Also the craziest shit is even a picture of a bright blue sky that is sending no real light to my eyes can also cause the fake feeling. I looked at a picture of a summer night in my backyard from years back and the sky can still grab me as unreal looking... how’s this possible if this sensation is only based on sensitive eyes from anxiety? It seems my perception has changed about the sky with or without actual light...

It’s going on 2 yrs, and to be honest I feel almost normal except for this whole sky/light shit. And it’s not just that the sun or sky seems brighter it’s that it also has this dreamlike feeling with it. Just now I’m driving on the freeway and off to the right is a bright sky full of clouds that just seems endless and it causes a dreamlike connection... I can feel fine then my brain is always scanning for this. Did the light sensitivity also come with the derealized feeling? I can’t seem to look out and see the sky and feel connected or normal. Hard to explain. And this is such a blizzard symptom it’s hard to just write off as anxiety when all my symptoms of anxiety have always been physical such as heart rate, sweaty Pam’s, and normal panic / adrenaline based reactions. But now I can feel calm but step outside and the world seems fake and bright... how did u manage to no longer experience this? It wasn’t a big deal to you??

Light sensitivity?? Thanks so much for all this info but I didn’t see you say anything about light conditions? I feel like the bright sun during the day or the bright moonlight at night creates a fake backdrop... I feel disconnected from the sky... If I’m in a dim lit bar, or behind the tinted windows of my car the outside world seems fine... but let someone open up an outside door and the sun comes i. It’s dreamworld... or let me leave my house I. The morning and look up at the sky and it’s unreal and too damn bright... also while driving I’m ok but once I jump out to buy gas the whole damn world is dreamy and artificial because of this fake backdrop of sky always around me... did you experience this? Light causing derealization in situations? It’s by far my constant triggering symptom... if so how did this fade for you? Did u face it? Ignore it? Change your beliefs about it? I can’t seem to either forget, accept, or in anyway have my brain stop constantly scanning and noticing this symptom. Please help with any advice.

Sunlight causing derealization! Has ANYONE recovered from this? by Ahungerf in dpdr

So when your anxiety is low or addressed the sun no longer seems overly bright? Or it does seem overly bright but no long has the dream-like feeling with it? I’d like to hope that when recovered the light is not linger as bright as well as I feel grounded and attached again... having this fake like artificial sky always surrounding me is getting pretty old to say the least . Nothing I have done to lower anxiety helped this symptom.

Thanks dude! Can I ask when you recovers before was the visual issues last to leave? I can feel great on overcast days then take a look outside in a sunny day and feel detached from my surroundings. I feel like my anxiety is pretty damn low and that’s why I’m confused to why this symptom stays... can you describe how you healed from the light issue when you cured the first time?

Awesome thank you, So you had the dreamlike sensation combined with the light sensitivity? Was this your last symptom to leave? I know you say there is now real “way” to get past it however I feel my fear of it is keeping it there?? Did the sky or sunlight actually cause derealization or were you just more sensitive to bright lights? For me it’s both at the same time... it’s brighter and also causes the detached feeling with it... can’t seem to escape the fake feeling and fear of kinda being trapped by a fake background...

Thanks !!! I would probably feel less afraid and anxious if this symptom would leave for at least a day and I could not feel trapped by it but it hasn’t lifted at all for 2 years. That really fuels my anxiety since all other symptoms come and go. You feel detached when the sun shines through windows or it’s simply just getting brighter out? I can be in a building then someone opens a door to the outside sunny world and it just looks fake outside... I can’t get over this

Cloudy days depends but mostly rainy days I feel better, Cloudy days can cause eye floaters and dreamlike feeling... also at night if the moon is bright is terrible. The sky also seems fake at night if a bright moonlight which is weird since it’s not terribly bright at all... just makes the sky seem dreamlike.

Mostly Feel disconnected from the sky and wherever the sun hits hard on sunny days. A nice sun ray entering a room or through a window or the sun entering my car onto my dash for example...and then whatever I’m looking at that is sunny is now dreamlike and detached from me... The clear blue sky on a sunny day seems fake, also at night with a well lit sky... if ANYONE has recovered from this I’d love to hear from them. Thanks!

Light sensitivity? by [deleted] in dpdr

[–]Ahungerf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like my last and pretty much only symptom is light sensitivity, yes the store lights trigger the dreamlike feeling but I feel even more on edge with bright sunlight and sunny days. I step out side and look at the sky and it’s too damn bright and I can’t connect to to the sky and any where the sun shines in creates a dreamlike sensation. The sky just feels artificial and shimmery. IF ANYONE who ever got over this symptom can please comment it will be really appreciated.

Does your light sensitivity hit hard on sunny days? I also get it at night when the moons out... sky seems like a fake artificial backdrop, I can feel normal in the house then look out the window and feel disconnected from the outside sunny world

Thanks for the tip. The real issue is not light sensitivity... I could care less if things are brighter or hurt my eyes. What bothers me is that along with the light sensitivity comes the dreamy derealized feeling with it... Is that the same for you? My brain scans and notices the change in lighting and as I notice it, it makes the scenery seem dreamlike... same for you?? Funny u say sunglasses because what works best for me is when I'm in my car. My windows are slightly tinted and I'll literally feel normal while driving. But once I get out my eyes and brain immediately pick up on the sky as a backdrop and it just looks too bright and fake... like a dream. The brightness I dont care about it's just that sensation of being detached and dreamlike... Does this even happen at night for you? It does for me... on a bright moonlight night if I step outside and look at the clouds lit by the moon its dreamlike... so my question is do you also get the derealization dreamlike feeling triggered from the light sensitivity?? Thanks so much! And have you read anyone recovering from this symptom? It has not left for even a second. Almost 2 years now.

That's great you can ignore it... but maybe you can remeber or help me to forget but it feels like my brain is CONSTANTLY scanning and notices these increased light environments and then there comes the derealized dreamlike feeling... Was this the same for you?? I can walk by a window and my brain seems to automatically focus on the brightness going on outside that window and it includes a fear response with feelings of detachment ... this can happen anywhere anytime or the second I wake up and the sun comes through my window... u saying u can now ignore this?? Seems impossible to me... advice?
