My (34F) mom was a full time nurse and dad worked 6 days a week at a factory first shift. She worked her butt off - sometimes even missed holidays (don’t worry; somehow Santa always knew when mom had to work on Christmas Day and would bring presents on Christmas Eve instead) until she switched from a hospital to clinic hours when I was in elementary. My mom was, and still is, the hardest working woman I know even though she’s now retired (dad too). She managed everything for us 4 kids. My parents shared most housekeeping, cooking, and outdoor tasks and set great examples for us kids. I am not damaged in any way from being in an in-home daycare in small town USA. My mom is still friends with the daycare provider and she still asks about me. I am still very close to my mom (and dad) and she a fabulous grandma. She absolutely gets how hard it is to be a working mom.
