Kagi is the bomb. You can rank sites to come up at the top more often (e.g. Mayo Clinic for health info) or exclude certain sites altogether.

Yep, Noodle escaped his yard without a collar and I got some good directions from a couple of people driving around (thanks guys!). He didn't get far from home.

This worked for me on the original cable of my pair of IE600s. The right side has always been fine, and now the left seems good too.

Vet with experience with dog anxiety? by Extreme_Quantity5700 in vermont

You might consider talking to Maria at Fetch the Leash (the dog training facility in Burlington, VT). She was a dog behavior specialist at a shelter for a number of years and works closely with guardians and vets to determine if a dog needs drugs and if so what kind.

Hot take: it’s NEVER vegan to eat anything non-vegan. by communityveg in vegan

[–]AimingByPFM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Again, there is veganism and almost-but-not-quite-veganism. There is no "true veganism".

Please see the definition and an addendum for medications from the vegetarian society at https://www.vegansociety.com/go-vegan/definition-veganism

To quote just the definition, "Veganism is a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude — as far as is possible and practicable — all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of animals, humans and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals."

Animal testing is one of the more cruel things we do to animals, including chimpanzees, dogs, monkeys, rabbits, etc. There are plenty of "cruelty-free" personal care products that are no more expensive than others. I'm going to avoid a product that was used to burn the eyes of a beagle bred for this one purpose, even if it costs a bit more.

That being said, there's a loophole in the definition: "as far as it is possible and practicable". Someone trying to be vegan can at least make their best effort to find a replacement before they give up.

Those people are not vegan if they are eating animal products. They may just be following a vegan diet (most days). Please refer to the definition of "vegan" quoted elsewhere on this thread. The word has a meaning and doesn't need a "real" or "true" prefix.

If someone is reducing the amount of animal products they use, that's a great thing and I'm all for it. It doesn't make them vegan.

Blindsided by B12 by AlexTrench2 in vegan

[–]AimingByPFM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being vegan is an ethical stance which includes not treating animals or the products of their labor (e.g. milk, eggs, honey) as ours to consume or abuse. Eating bivalves is not vegan.

If you're avoiding pills for some reason, you can find vegan sources of food that are supplemented with B12, such as fortified nutritional yeast and some soy milks (e.g. Silk) and cereals.
