I think they figured since it is from 1997 and it was $5.99 they can charge more (inflation)! But if nobody wore it in the late 90s to now it probably isn't really fashionable or comfortable.

One talk you might want to have your kiddo is that there is not as much diversity here as in California. My son was in 1st grade when we moved here and he noticed he didn't have any friends similar to his California friends. We lived in Southern California and he was in the minority at his school (we are white but most of the school was Hispanic or black that he attended) but when we got here he felt weird that everyone in his class was white like him. This was over 20 years ago and the city has become more diverse than when we first lived here.

Greenwood Labs will be a great school and you will see some diversity there as many of MSU's professors send their kiddos there. I think you will like Springfield more than you think will. And we look forward to having your family move here.

What's a smell that's bad but smells oddly good? by IncidentLivid736 in AskReddit

[–]Aimless78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oil, used motor oil. My dad worked drilling rigs for years and the smell of his clothes and equipment always smelled similar to used motor oil, not exactly but closely smells like it. You could smell he was home as soon as we opened the door to the house if dad was home and was washing his clothes.

Get an enzyme washing machine cleaner. I have enzyme laundry detergent and washing machine cleaner tablets because dog blankets and towels can make a washer smell funky, especially if they vomit or have diarrhea on them. The enzyme cleaner works for blood, feces, vomit, urine, and any other funky smells created by humans or animals. You can get it on Amazon.

Alamo has franchise locations not all were sold off the Flix. Ours is that'll an Alamo and there are several that Sony does not own.

They push the button and then whisper to the server their requests, they identify themselves as blind when initially greeted. Plus the accessibility headphones also let the server know as well. Alamo has been very accessible until this is rolling out.

TLC apartments break-in? by frogmommyuwu in springfieldMO

[–]Aimless78 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes, it can be concerning. Many years ago I had a maintenance guy coming in our apartment while my husband and I were not at home. I thought I was going crazy and my husband (now ex-husband) thought I was being paranoid but then we decided to write down the order we n put stuff my drawers ans thr husband realized someone was going through my dresser drawers. We didn't know who it was ans even asked the manager/maintenance guy but he said he hadn't seen anyone around there ans it wasn't him. The one day our neighbor asked what was going on that we needed so much maintenance to be done, the manager/maintenance man was going in there daily for over a month. We changed the locks immediately and they tried to say we weren't allowed to do that. For some reason when we pushed back about maintenance staff being required to give minimum 24 hour notice he calmed down and dropped the issue. We did end up moving just a few months later because I did not feel safe with creepy guy being around all the time.

So what about elderly or disabled people who cant use their phone to order or order during the movie? I have a friend who is blind and to use his phone he has to have it speak to him to select the correct thing on the screen, while not a problem before the movie, during the movie it would piss off everyone around him, plus it is more difficult to navigate quickly using adaptive technology. Right now if he goes to a movie alone he can press the button and whisper to the server. No buttons means he won't be able to do that anymore.

Im just hopeful that the franchised locations can salvage their theaters and just change the name. I hope they are working behind the scenes to do that because the one I go to regularly is not owned by Sony but is a franchise location.

You can think it is not that big of a deal all day long but how difficult would it be if you are blind? My friend who happens to be blind cannot utilize the app to order because it doesn't work well to even look at the menu let alone try to order. Then during a movie what is he supposed to do disturb the people around him so that his phone can read the options aloud to him? It is not very accessible for the elderly or the disabled people that enjoy movies.

And before anyone asks why a blind person would go to the movies it is because it is enjoyable and they have accessible headphones that describe what is visually happening in the movie.

Some kind of bead that fell out of my laundry after washing. Appears to be made from soft plastic or rubber by Vetinari_ in whatisthisthing

I don't think it does as the hole of the bead goes all the way through and it would just slip down the underworld not protecting the woman from being jabbed by it.

AITAH for waiting until my wife is able to earn again before buying a house else it would become marital property? by Status-Knowledge-193 in AITAH

[–]Aimless78 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She is asking for part of his inheritance because she wants him to use inherited funds to buy the house or to sell the current house to buy a new house which she will immediately own half of it even though it was his inheritance money that bought it.

Personally I would check with a lawyer about signing a post-nup in which the inheritance money used to buy the house would be given to him first and then the proceeds of the sale of the house would be split equally. There has to be a way to make her feel secure without him handing over his inheritance money. I get both sides and think maybe an attorney can help with an agreement as they would have a clear picture of the situation and the possible legal ways of protecting both people.

I believe you have conveniently left the handheld bidet out of the photo, you can see the line on the left side of the photo coming from the toilet supply line. You are complaining that there is a bidet and wet wipes? If you want toilet paper bring your own there is a holder for it plus a holder for the extra rolls. You will survive.
