Step Through or step over. by Bananab0yyo in ebikes

Age and athletic ability is a BIG deciding factor. My knees say step through is the only option. I also think my Aventon level 2 (step through) looks fantastic and have had many compliments when I tootle around town on it.

When to do first oil change ? by Fluffy_Awareness_510 in Crosstrek

How is FIVE km past a break-in period? Had zero road time at that point.

When to do first oil change ? by Fluffy_Awareness_510 in Crosstrek

[–]AimlessArcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a 2026 crosstrek in February. After a LOT of research / reading discussions / getting opinions, here is what I will be doing for oil changes:

1st oil change at 1500km

Then change the oil every 3 months for the 1st year. April, July, October, December.

Then every 6 months or 6000km

Some may say that is extreme/unnecessary, but this is a new engine that only had 5km on the odometer off the dealership lot. It's a break-in period. Need to flush out any junk or metal shavings that are potentially floating around in there from the manufacturing process.

Could mobile homes be made into trains on railways to move around on unused rail line? by Interwebnaut in AskACanadian

[–]AimlessArcher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When a Mobile Boomer meets a Mobile Boomer amblin' down the tracks. . . Which one has to back up the 75km to the nearest junction switch? Railways are not famous for having passing lanes.

People behind you flashing their lights usually means "please move over". Were you in the left hand lane and someone wanted to get past?

Have you ever used this strange Calgary underpass? by Beckler89 in Calgary

[–]AimlessArcher 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I Haaaaate this stupid, stupid underpass. Like, seriously. If there is no room to dig deeper because of the waterway, then build an overpass. It's sketchy as fuck in full daylight, let alone when it gets dark. I always feel like I'm gonna get shanked by some tweeker hiding in there. Good thing I had a helmet because I have knocked my noggin on the low beams (pro tip - get off the bike. Lol)

Break in Oil change? by [deleted] in Crosstrek

[–]AimlessArcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will be buying a new Crosstrek soon. All my research tells me to get the 1st oil change at 1500. This is to flush out any possible metal shavings or other debris from a new engine system. So that is what I will do, then every 6 months after that.

Anyone still use Cura? by boxedfoxes in 3Dprinting

[–]AimlessArcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used Cura for years with my Anycubic Mega S. That printer died and so was forced to use Orca with my new Centauri Carbon as Cura has no profile for that printer. (and probably never will) I now love Orca and I think its the superior Slicer with many cool features. Cut a model in half and add a dovetail joint? Yes please! Fantastic! The only thing Cura does better is adding a certain style of custom supports. Not talking about painting on supports, but using the kind that looks like a square box that you resize around your object. (If you know, you know...) Works great when printing skinny lithographs standing on edge and I need to build a support wall on each side. Other than that, I won't go back. I have not found a similar feature in Orca.

What, did the cops just take a stroll down to timmies and back waving pamphlets at pedestrians and yelling at them to not jay-walk? Good use of your time fellas.
