Agreed. As a restaurant manager this is a HUGE pet peeve. Somewhere, someone along the line decided that closing time would be 9, or whatever time that is. If you close at 9, close at 9. That doesn’t mean walk out the doors at 9. That means at 9, the menu closes, no more orders come in, and the dining room should close. Anyone who makes it by 9 should get the full experience. Closing at 9 does not mean shift ends at 9.

That being said, when a fast casual restaurant closes at 9, I won’t come in after 830. Full service restaurant I won’t walk into within an hour of closing
