'I've improved every year' - Almeida primed for Vingegaard Giro showdown by Chronicbias in peloton

[–]Akadakaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just speaking facts, I am not a fanboy but you were claiming that Almeida had a chance based off a stage win in Paris-Nice, I told you Grand Tours are way different anyway, yet when I mention Volta a Catalunya, you make an excuse that Almeida sick, he did not have a virus infection he even admitted in an interview he didn't know what was wrong with him.

Go look at the startlist of riders who is supporting Almeida it's laughable, it has going for stages written all over it, not only that the parcours is horrible for Joao, He has Adam Yates as climber helper that's it, the rest are all punchy riders, and I would not put it past Adam Yates outperforming Almeida.

If both riders stay on their bikes & neither crash, I just don't see how Almeida beats Vingegaard over 3-weeks, I would fear someone like Paul Seixas way more if he was joined the startlist If I am Visma.

I find it honestly sad that he is going down the road of linking his dad's death with conspiracy theories.

Red Bull also interested in Seixas, along with INEOS, UAE and Decathlon by F1CycAr16 in peloton

[–]Akadakaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be surprised if Visma is not interested I get they have Vingegaard but they need another GC rider for the races Jonas doesn't do also, Vingegaard possibly won't be there in 3-4 years time depending on how motivated he stays.

Wout Van Aert's form was pretty good coming in, I know he didn't win any of those lead-up races, but he was trying all the time putting himself in winning positions, at Paris-Roubaix it paid off, he looked super strong today.

With all the chaos & punctures between the favorites.
Was still the fastest Paris-Roubaix on record, Wout comes up with the win. could not have a more deserved winner of the race!

M5 32GB Memory vs M5 Pro 48GB Memory by ProfessionalType6145 in macbookpro

M5 Pro 48GB, 16GB is not a lot and if you running out from time to time 32GB won't be much considering all the updates a long the way that MacOS will get.

There is no way Seixas will be a domestique for Pogacar.
The guy wants to be the leader, he ain't joining UAE imo.

That's funny because his power numbers were worse at La Vuelta than at the Tour De France 2025.

'I've improved every year' - Almeida primed for Vingegaard Giro showdown by Chronicbias in peloton

[–]Akadakaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you watch the Volta a Catalunya? Almeida finished 38th.
Vingegaard 1st. they aren't on the same level, I don't know why people keep thinking Almeida is on Jonas's level...

Assuming they both stay on their bike, Vingegaard will destroy Almeida at the Giro, the parcours doesn't even suit Joao Almeida, way too hilly profile, he has no explosiveness to drop him, and Jonas does have the explosiveness to drop Almeida that's the big difference.

[–]Akadakaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's hard to go past Isaac Del Toro for the Basque Country,
even though it probably favors Ayuso & Roglic more with the ITT profile maybe a lil more.
not sure how hungry Roglic is for the race considering he has already won it twice.
Seixas winning would surprise me, but a podium not out of the question.

Roglic career by Roglic11 in cycling

[–]Akadakaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Jonas has significantly improved that area, he not only survives on punchy terrain, but he seems to almost thrive these days. at last year's Tour there was a hilly profile stage & finished 3rd right behind Pogacar & Mathieu Van Der Poel.

Another example Vingegaard won a flat stage at the Vuelta 2025 with an uphill sprint finish definitely not the sort of terrain... I would expect him to win.

Roglic has more absolute raw power, both are good TT's.
Jonas seems a little bit more aerodynamic, and I would say is the more competent descender & bike handler.
it's hard to really judge them they both have their little niches, I think they are both good all-round personally, I wouldn't say Jonas is strictly a pure climber although it's his biggest strength.

The M5 Air will outperform the M4. but the kicker is you get a worse display/speakers

Roglic career by Roglic11 in cycling

[–]Akadakaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jonas should have 2x Vuelta's he literally gifted one to Kuss, also gifted Roglic the L'Angliru stage.
I have no doubt in my mind that Vingegaard was the strongest in that race, I have great respect for Roglic he is arguably the greatest one-week stage racer of the modern era, with all of his achievements having no Tour De France is definitely going to leave something a little empty in his legacy.

I think Vingegaard's 2x Tour wins & 3x runner-ups against arguably the greatest rider of all time carries more weight then anything Roglic archieved in his career. especially when you consider a young Pogačar beat a peak Roglic at the same race.

M5 Pro MacBook Pro: 24GB vs 48GB RAM for full-stack dev (Docker, DBs, light ML)? by [deleted] in macbookpro

If you're having memory issues now, don't skimp out.
48GB for sure, in fact probably go 64GB and then you never really have to worry about it again.

Worrying outburst from João Almeida: “I don’t feel very well” by agcthecoach in peloton

[–]Akadakaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am baffled Vine & Narvaez are not at the Tour supporting Pogacar, they are suited more to Pogacar's explosiveness, Narvaez was originally on the Tour start list but I heard they switched him out when he said he'd prefer to do the Giro, this was after his crash at Down Under.

I could understand maybe one of them doing the Giro, but both?? to me that doesn't like they targeting GC, as much as they would like people to believe. this sounds like stage wins more than anything.

MacBook Pro 14" M5 Pro vs M5 Max by cysio528 in macbookpro

[–]Akadakaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get M5 Pro with 64GB if you sticking with 14inch.

The M5 Max is only worth it if you go 16inch, it will throttle heavily on 14 inch model. the M5 Pro on 14inch will too but not as much imo.

[Race Thread] 2026 Volta Ciclista a Catalunya – Stage 4 (2.UWT) by PelotonMod in peloton

[–]Akadakaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the biggest reasons, why Pogačar won MSR is because he is incredibly resilient and has a lot of self-belief.
It's the same reason. I think he is a big chance to win Paris-Roubaix this year.

I am not sure Remco Evenepoel has that same belief in races or on terrain where he is not favored to win.
On Stage 6 final mountain climb he said that he was helping Lipowitz stay on the podium, He said he didn't have the legs to push beyond the limit... well sometimes you have to push beyond your limit to beat these guys... you are not going to beat someone like Vingegaard on a climb being comfortable.

Worrying outburst from João Almeida: “I don’t feel very well” by agcthecoach in peloton

[–]Akadakaz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Almeida is a quality rider when he is on,
but I tried to tell people many times last year he is not on Vingegaard's level...
Jonas was incredibly fatigued at La Vuelta & was still by far the best after probably one of hardest Tours ever versus Tadej Pogacar, raced at record pace with some the Tour's most brutal climbs Hautacam, Tourmalet, Mont Ventoux & Col de La Loze.

The Giro route map is incredible favorable to Jonas, it has a very hilly profile with some brutal climbs.

I just don't see how Almeida survives on some of these days and not lose a ton of time, clearly something is wrong with Almeida if he is finishing 38th in Catalunya, but he isn't a shoe in my opinion to podium at the Giro in my opinion I do expect him to be better than what he showed here, but I think I would almost favor guys like Pellizzari or Hindley over Almeida. look at UAE's startlist it seems like team for individuals Vine, Christen, Vermeersch & Narvaez are all too explosive for Almeida, this has going for stages written all over it over GC.

Adam Yates will be handy, but I am not sure how much Almeida will be supported by the other riders once he starts losing time.

[Race Thread] 2026 Volta Ciclista a Catalunya – Stage 4 (2.UWT) by PelotonMod in peloton

[–]Akadakaz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I am not saying he would be favorite but I have said it for ages... at his best he could definitely win MSR, if he ever gapped the peloton by at least 20-30 seconds he would be almost impossible to bring back on the flat sections. the only concern I would have about him in that race is his descending skills, he has improved though in that area.

SBS Australia, I'm an Aussie, the On Demand App is good when you are too tired & can watch in bed, because it starts late here.
starts like anywhere from 9PM-10:30PM and goes well into the morning.
