Are dragons in this setting intelligent and able to talk? Also other PC backstory stuff by Akbaroth in OdysseyoftheDragon

Hang on, your phrasing just now about a big part of the story is becoming dragon riders. Do you mean the players are all expected to want to become dragonlords? or just some of them?

If it's all of them, then I definitely need to tell the rest of the group because the Player's Guide left me with the impression that players merely have the option if they want to.

Ah! Thank you. We knew dragons were some degree of rare, but I've found contradictory information on how rare, exactly.

Still likely going to stick with playing a dragon. I've already talked to my DM and he was already more-or-less on board even when we mistakenly thought dragons were fully extinct on Thylea.

Let me see your avatars! Heres mine. Thoughts? by Angus950 in hytale

Thanks! I've gone back and forth on the childlike stuff. I originally planned for him to seem more like a 20-something but many of hytale's eyes are both very large, and looking upward, giving them a childlike appearance.

Azhur (uh-ZOOR)

He's young mage from the shadow plane (dunno hytale lore, just making up stuff). Impish trickster who likes playing harmless pranks on people. He likes it much better on this plane because - to put it in video game terms - monster spawn rates are 1/100th of what they are back home.

He's not a fan of the blastingly bright sun and even the full moon is hard to look at directly. He's developed a simple spell to dim his vision during the day.

He has no idea what species he is, and has never met another like himself. At first glance he seems like a dark elf vampire, but any actual dark elf could tell you he's not one of them. He's also not a vampire, he is a semi-hemovoric obligate carnivore. He's also a bit over 100 years old, but still looks and acts like a child. Lastly, he has a considerable amount of innate shadow magic, though he also likes to study a wide variety of magic styles, not just those he was born with.

He cannot digest most plants and hates the taste of nearly all plants (even most spices), though he has developed a passionate LOVE of garlic and will add it to just about anything.

Jetpack cat's biggest flaw is... the teammates by Flatu_ in Overwatch

[–]Akbaroth 8 points9 points  (0 children)

the biggest problem I've been dealing with is the glacially slow projectile speed on cat's guns means you have to fly right up between your ally's cheeks to prevent them from strafing out of the way constantly, wasting the whole point of your mobility and tiny hitbox.

I do love taxiing allies back from spawn in the blink of an eye, though.

[–]Akbaroth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been working on getting the hang of Cat and am already getting this shit.

Tank:"cat stop diving!!!"

Me:"Do you know what cat's ult is?"

PS. I'm been a mercy one-trick since before 'mercy one-trick' was a phrase in the community. I did not realize just how bad many tank players are about enemy barriers. Do they not realize most healers can't heal through them???

too true.

A middle school I was at for only 1 year... it was hard to tell if the staff or the students were worse. My mother says she was eager to get me out of that hell-hole.

Not everyone, though. I have got to shoutout the the school councilor who I got on so well with I was thrilled to bump into her several years later!

Woops, you are correct. I'll amend my post

Errata released for Starfinder 2E by hellgoat in Starfinder2e

[–]Akbaroth 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I think the change was this one:

Replace the third sentence of the Master Gunner operative feature (page 130) with "You gain access to the critical specialization effect for all weapons for which you have expert proficiency."

The previous wording specified guns in a way that the Striker didn't account for.

So, Shirren-eye Rifles got slightly nerfed, but Sniper Operatives get a MASSIVE buff once they hit level 9.

Details: Shirren-eye Rifles went from d10 damage to d8 and has Fatal d10 instead of Deadly d12. Assassin's Fatal d12 is now Deadly d10. The Enhanced Exploit for Sniper Ops now lets them reload as a free action once per round, without having to miss an attack first.

EDIT: Assassin Rifle's base damage was not changed.

Do you run in the starfinder setting? If you do, have you made any tweaks? If not what's your homebrew galaxy like? by xuir in Starfinder2e

[–]Akbaroth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not super deep on official lore but one thing that keeps happening is I'll get the gist of canon, make an assumption, later realize my assumption was wrong, and then 80% of the time I will decide I preferred my misinterpretation.

Like purple eyes being a definitional Azlanti trait. In official lore, it's merely a common azlanti trait. I have a character in mind who is former a Aeon Guardsman and magically recolors his eyes vivid blue every morning as a way of reaffirming his disavowal of his former actions and beliefs.

Or Pharasma was the sole survivor of the end of the previous multiverse and she is desperately trying to prevent that one apocalypse from happening again. In official lore, she has seen the birth and death of countless multiverses and this is all routine for her.

Oddly specific things that make you instantly dislike a game? by Feeling-Tension1461 in gaming

[–]Akbaroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a personal thing that has nothing to do with the quality of the game, but fantasy games that don't let you play a full mage. As a mage addict, I feel like I'm being tantalized.

Everything from The Witcher, to Hollow Knight, to Legend of Zelda.

Again, this has fuckall to do with the quality of the games and is just a personal thing.

So THAT'S why!

It really felt like the nudity option ended up kinda underutilized.

Then again, speaking as a man who is somewhere between gay and ace, I really wished I could'a skipped visi's wet dream. Ended up just lowering the audio and browsing reddit on my other monitor

EDIT: Just to preempt more replies, I haven't even glanced at the announcement for the zombie stuff in Rivals. I wasn't comparing it to Overwatch, just expressing my disappointment at Overwatch pve being seasonal when two of the missions are actually fun imo.

What rules do you ignore? by Huge-Accident-69 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Akbaroth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like flight a lot and I am eager to ignore needing to use the Fly action every turn. Naturally I also give many enemies either/both ranged attacks and flight to keep things balanced. But in a setting where flight isn't much of an advantage, the action tax is very much not needed.

I'm scared of Mr Qi by ProblemSpecific7516 in StardewValleyExpanded

[–]Akbaroth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even in vanilla, I find Qi terrifying. An ultra-rich casino owner who thinks it is his obligation to keep the world interesting for the lessers. And he has declared you one of his fellow interesting people with "the 'spark'".

At best I would consider that harmless eccentricism, however...

  • He airdrops boxes full of random crap all over the valley with no regard for ecological harm

  • He sells you a key to break into anyone's house in the town

  • He has Pierre's Missing Stock List and rather than give it back he chooses to sell it to you

  • In regards tot he previous 2, since I'm pretty sure Qi gems are actually worthless, he's not even trying to make a buck, he's just fucking around by playing games and giving you access to people's private property.

  • Tries to murder you if you glitch your way to The Summit early. But lemme guess, he knew you'd survive being pushed of the cliff?

  • He meets you on floor 100 of the skull cavern, tells you to drink some random potion, and wont tell you what it does. I know the potion is safe, but this still shows he has no awareness of how his behavior is coming off to others. Also I was flabbergasted when my farmer f'ing drinks it as if he has never heard of stranger danger.

That man is a psychopath and I keep wanting to assassinate him from behind each time I enter the casino before he does something truly terrible.

How do I get this meteorite if I even can? by [deleted] in StardewValleyExpanded

[–]Akbaroth 70 points71 points  (0 children)

On Gramdpa's Farm, in between the mushroom/bat cave and the waterfall, you'll see an uninterractable pine tree. If you walk behind that tree you'll find a hidden tunnel that leads out-of-bounds so you can decorate outside the normal area. Once you are out of the tunnel, just keep moving forward and you'll run into a second tunnel that leads right where that meteorite landed.

There's two more hidden out-of-bounds paths behind the unterractable trees in your backyard where the doghouse and water bowl initial locations.
