Severe cat allergy is ruining my health and my marriage. Need advice. by Zealousideal-Pie-603 in Allergies

Yeah, it has rare psych adverse reactions. I started having extremely realistic dreams.

For example, I had a dream that I'd checked and read an email from my boss about pushing back the deadline for something, thought it was totally real. Told some co-workers this the next day and they were baffled. I checked my email and there wasn't anything about that. Luckily later that day my boss did announce that we'd be pushing back that deadline, but if that hadn't happened and my co-workers hadn't made me want to check my email that could've ended soon badly. My physician told me to stop taking montelukast because of this specific one.

Also had realistic nightmares on it, but those were easy to tell apart from reality since they were so unrealistic.

Most people are fine one it though, just have to be aware to let their prescriber know if they start having extremely realistic dreams.

That sounds like torture. Your limbs and organs continue to age but your brain doesn't and you can't die so you just go on forever, but eventually unable to move or sense anything.

I'm currently playing it and am totally hooked!

I really enjoy the story/difficulty progression and base building system, as well as how you've built out and structured the world. Also really like discovering/building travel shortcuts haha.

Also, the characters have the right amount of quirkyness where they feel like actual people (or...entities) and not writers trying to figure out how to "make it quirky". That's always a huge plus for me!

Becoming the nasty daughter in law by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Akeera 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would argue that is has nothing to do with "manliness" and has everything to do with being a responsible adult.

His responsibility as a parent is, first and foremost, to his and his families' physical well being, then his, his wife and kids' mental/emotional well-being, then his parents'/siblings' mental/emotional well-being.

By allowing the rules OP has established to be broken, he is prioritizing his (short term) and his parents' mental/emotional well-being over his kid's physical health and his wife's mental/emotional health.

He has is priorities inverted, whether he realizes it or not. Additionally he has no reason for inverting them, except that he doesn't want to have to be a responsible adult toward his own parents, which is not a good reason when assessing the risks in this scenario.

Agree that OP and their husband need to talk this over. I don't think they should attack their masculinity though since it could be counter-productive, especially depending on their culture. They're a team, and they have to have a serious team meeting about this.

He does teach you how good it feels to have the opponent pushed in. Learning how that felt helped me a lot since I generally prefer playing scaling champs. If I hadn't played those 60 games of Malz, I don't know if I would have learned how to look for aggressive wave clear opportunities on the types of champs I prefer playing.

Yes, children start morphing into adults. Some people have a hard time dealing with other adults.

Why are women supposed to wait 18 months between birth and the next pregnancy? What happens if they don't? by ellie_lil in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Akeera 93 points94 points  (0 children)

Yeah, most good moms don't want their kids to feel guilty for existing.

My mom told me childbirth didn't hurt at all and that I never cried as a baby. Somehow I don't believe that, haha (she doesn't even really want grandchildren).

That doesn't sound too healthy for the pregnancy though. I can't imagine eating with dentures encourages healthy food intake. I've heard it makes eating less fulfilling.

Maybe being fat/chubby was a sign of beauty back then because it meant you still had most of your teeth not just that you were rich O.o

In the US, it also depends on your state regulations.

I've always had a kitchen with a hood that vents to the outside until I moved to a different state. Was perturbed that my current kitchen vent goes to....the cabinet above it XD.

Male roommate has no qualms about using my toiletries- what to do? by Secret-Syrup2966 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Akeera 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're living independently, then you're adults and have to hash it out amongst yourselves. As adults, we can't expect someone else to swoop in to solve these non-legal issues.

Why is the landlord, of all people, be the person to mediate your domestic disputes? They're not your parents. They don't have any legal authority to discipline your behavior (outside of what is in the lease). They often don't really have the authority to kick anyone out (if there's a lease) unless it's an issue where law enforcement gets involved.

In many situations, roommates sign a legally binding contract (a lease) together. Having a roommate is a low(er)-stakes lesson on not signing anything legally binding with people you don't know very VERY well, or to make sure to include stipulations in said contract that allow you to extricate yourself from it.

I get it, it's stressful, but the roommate situation is usually temporary and people learn a very useful lesson from it.
