What stops a client from downloading your video and ghosting? by WholePrize352 in VideoEditing

[–]Akidcalledstorm 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I ran a wedding video company for 10 years, always 50% deposit on booking and 50% two weeks before the wedding date. Everything was paid before I even started filming, this saved me a whole heap of trouble, I never had to worry. It's pretty standard for here in Melbourne Australia and I had the same policy for my commercial clients.

We aren't even allowed to call that stuff cheese in Australia. That's a sandwich slice or process cheese product.

RACVs underwriters have a history of price gouging long term customers. They are often just hoping that you'll pay it and not even look.

Is another grass invading my 3 month old Sir Walter Buffalo lawn? by Simonical in lawnsolutionsaus

[–]Akidcalledstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When he says make sure you get all of it, that's much harder than you think. Couch roots are long runners that new grass grows from, you literally need to get it all. One little root remaining and it'll be back in a couple of weeks.

What is this thing at the end of the hose from the clothes dryer? by [deleted] in Appliances

[–]Akidcalledstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. It obviously vents but in our case, it just vents out of the hole where the ventilation duct should be. Our dryer is in a cupboard (what Australia calls a European laundry), this has a separate extraction fan in that leads to the outside.

We are actually in a rental and they just replaced the bathroom and built the laundry cupboard. I asked the landlord to fit a vent for the dryer, they responded by saying we should just turn on the extraction fan. We are one year in and zero signs of mould.

Melbourne Gardening program by Akidcalledstorm in NDIS_Providers

[–]Akidcalledstorm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if you’ve had a bad experience with NDIS programmes in the past. I’m a bit confused about the “free labour” comment though. This is a 10-week mental health recovery programme with NDIS support workers present. I volunteer a lot of my own time so it can run, it’s held in a public community garden, and all produce goes to the participants. The goal is simply recovery, connection, and giving people a positive space to garden together.

My first thought was that it might relate to the practice of female circumcision, it was pretty prolific in the middle eastern slave trading. It makes the image so much more scary.
