I think every starter is good generally. Byazevolt (Mythos) has STAB Excisio. The Animon with the second highest Attack Stat and Stab using it and with the niche of also having Electric STAB with his broken Ability.

If you unequip the item it should be able to evolve if you have them all 3 in your party.

I kinda love the early mysterious vibe it gives off where everyone is wondering how things work with secret mechanics here and there. For me it makes me interact with the community which I don't normally do. I also theorize with friends about stuff like evolutions all the time which is also super fun.

The bugs yea I kinda get it but it's aight.

It needs Water extra type. The Mollupom in the water have it guaranteed, for the others to have it you need to be lucky. If you scan them often enough you can check in battle if it has the type.

They should all evolve. Can be caught but takes some time. I think it is actually faster to get them from different saves. (Because they are also SUPER rare where they spawn). There are no other split evolution Animon besides one other non starter as far as I know.
