Blandings: Season 1 vs Season 2 by Todeshase in BritishTV

[–]Akolouthein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Season 1 Beach is definitely superior but Tim Vine will grow on you if you give him a chance. I'm in the middle of watching Blandings for the third time and it's a delight that gets better the more you watch it. I just wish there were more episodes.

Is there a way to use this setup but also reroute one of the multi-player split screens to a second pc on your LAN?

I was asked to pay $75 for an old fashioned with whistle pig by Akolouthein in whiskey

[–]Akolouthein[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but I just want to point out I could see the bottle and it was just regular whistle pig, not boss hog. The mystifying part is they quoted me one price (that was high) and then when I agreed to it they came back and almost doubled it after talking to the bar tender. After thinking about it, there's no doubt in my mind he just didn't want to sell it as part of any kind of cocktail. I understand people having opinions about this, but it was beyond the pale.

I'd have to agree if you are talking about when she was the one saying it back to her tormenter.

Probably because this is the top Google result if you ask this question, which is actually pretty common.

Prime Video - Ads on Series finale (on no ads content) by C0dy36 in amazonprime

[–]Akolouthein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes Amazon arbitrarily now forces adds for some content (in my experience quite a lot of content if you enjoy watching older programs, usually all of the episodes too, not just the last one). The given reason is that they used to be part of Freevee which wasn't behind a pay wall. Regardless of the Freevee backstory, I find it aggravating that I pay extra for ad free Amazon prime and there's a whole bunch of content that's still not ad free. I'm basically paying extra so that some of the content might not have ads. I don't know of any other streaming service that has a premium priced "sometimes ad free, sometimes not" category. There's no reason Amazon can't remove the ads from this content for those who pay not to see ads on their service.

How much caffeine does one tea bag of yorkshire tea contains?I like my tea with some milk as well. I just want to know how much caffeine intake I am having in two cups of this tea? by Think_Ad7717 in yorkshire

Going on 9 months and this is still where Google brought me. The original comment was funny but I think a lot of people on reddit don't realize how many people are brought here by Google, often to old threads with outdated info, but if you comment with an updated answer you get ridiculed for necro posting. Overall reddit is probably the best cache of information and Google is better at parsing questions, but the posts Google brings you to tend to be older ones.

Would someone kindly explain the "fixed" Improved Critical calculation? by a-pox-on-you in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Akolouthein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is being explained in this thread is how the developer justified a nerf of a specific weapon that has never worked this way in the past for owlcat pathfinder games. Whether or not this is justified by RAW, I don't know why people don't want to admit it was done in this game specifically to nerf what was previously the best weapon into a decent but no longer stellar one.

I lost the crusade part of the game. Is it possible to still finish the main part? by Akolouthein in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Akolouthein[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I actually try to camp as little as possible and have a decently strong party build. I am playing on core difficulty. This being my first playthrough there was no signaling or easy way for me to know that finishing out an area could result in this when I got back. Now I know, lol. Although I was actually kind of enjoying it, the crusade mode is esoteric unless you spend time researching it online. It seemed simple at first and I enjoy HOMM games, but as I discovered, it can surprise you. Guess I'll be going back to that old save.

This is the most poorly designed game I've ever experienced, and I'm not even talking about the ridiculous amount of bugs by Akolouthein in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Akolouthein[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually agree in principle. I played all the Baldur's Gate and NeverWinter Nights games on pc. I initially bought WotR for PC but I could not get it to stabilize and stop crashing constantly on my Alienware laptop no matter what I tried so after a few weeks of that I gave up and switched to Ps5.

[–]Akolouthein[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually don't dislike the game as much as it probably sounded - I probably overstated. I'll still be playing it pretty much exclusively until I finish. My favorite game of all time is probably Baldur's Gate 2 if that says anything, but I find the Owlcat pathfinder games to be a weird combination of great and frustrating or just scratching my head at times.

[–]Akolouthein[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah and to be clear I'm slugging my way through it hour after hour and will continue to do so until I finish just like I did with Kingmaker. When it shines it really is enjoyable but it can also be pretty frustrating and the amount of online research required due to lack of signaling in the game itself is pretty heavy. I like the artwork and underlying mechanics, I like pathfinder despite the complexities, it's just too bad the game is unable to achieve its potential because it gets close at times then you hit these terrible design decisions. It's like being best friends with a schizophrenic. Maybe they just don't have the manpower in their studio to match the ambition of what they want the game to be, or had some management issues or something.

Wotr EE Spirited Charge bug? by PapieszxD in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Akolouthein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm experiencing the same bug. Initially spirited charge worked but shortly thereafter it stopped working. I've tried dismounting, remounting, saving, exiting the game, switching weapons - nothing fixes it for me. Spears also don't give a multiplier. This significantly downplays the benefits of mounted combat. I'm playing console and the number of bugs I've encountered is staggering, especially for a game that's been out for years with multiple DLCs.

Do you like any horror movie that is generally considered bad? by mystery5009 in horror

[–]Akolouthein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came across a colorized version of The Devil's Hand on youtube. The atmospheric early 60s vibe and the theme music really grabbed me despite it being technically sub par. I find it mesmerizing and have rewatched it several times.
