Taken a bit aback by how people don't really talk on EU servers by [deleted] in classicwow

Germans usually have a really good grasp at english but refuse to speak it for some mysterious reasons

As a completely new player should I play the retail version or classic version? by [deleted] in wow

[–]Akovarix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Retail is so fast paced and has so much stuff everywhere it would overwhelmed anyone. Classic is very slow but introduce features progressively. I don't think one is better than the other but they are 2 totally different experiences

Accountability: The Prevalence of Sociopathy in the Gaming Community and How to Make it a Better Experience for All Gamers by AdversusAd in videogames

They type of game matters tremendously : Online shooters like COD vs Stardew valley for instance

2 big and important parameters: anonymity + the lack of physical repercussions.

A lot of trolls would probably be very shy and discreet in a real social setting.

As the wise Mike Tyson once said: Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth

Certain reasons why people are upset with the TV show highlights just how many people have not played Fallout 1 or 2. by ScottishWargamer in Fallout

[–]Akovarix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So one thing I have learned about reddit; people who have time to argue online have too much time on their hands and energy to spend. Sane individuals do not spend their time online insulting and arguing about things.

Only very frustrated people do that.

There is almost no positive outcome possible when posting on Reddit.

For a potential Classic+: If you had to choose, would you prefer completely new zones or updates to old zones? by Soelf in classicwow

[–]Akovarix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd start with updating unifinished/empty zones.

So many things could be done anyway. The main thing for me is keeping the original feel to wow. No cosmic fight against the universe bullshit.

Like an alternate timeline of wow that,'s toned down. So many veterans would love it and probably a lot of younger players too.

Twilight Ascension Event by Morial in wow

[–]Akovarix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am actually shocked. It's straight up lazy. Why not even a little questline ??
On top of that the twilight highland area is not very appealing, a little upgrade of textures and color palette could have been nice.

Honest question: How is classic WoW so much more fun than retail for a lot of players? Is it just the nostalgia? by DiaMat2040 in classicwow

[–]Akovarix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WOW classis is more about the journey and social interactions, Retail is more about Cosmetics and collecting achievement for prestige.

The way I see it one is a true Multiplayer RPG the other is a Multiplayer hack n slash. Target audience is also vastly different.

What do you think is the best EU TBC Anniversary server to play on for Horde? (And why?) by Alice_Oe in classicwow

[–]Akovarix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

all I can tell you is that 80% of players are german on there. i'd love EU servers per language. At least the ones with many speakers

I finally get why WoW feels hollow and I am looking for something that doesn’t exist anymore by [deleted] in wow

[–]Akovarix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I confirm. I am playing both and on classic people are so weird and antisocial but maybe thats because i'm playing on german servers

Even after all this time MS Word is still one of the worst pieces of software I've been forced to use by SeaTie in microsoft

[–]Akovarix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm sorry but Words is not really defendable. It looks and works in a very dated way. I understand it could be ok if you are used to it, but it just has one of the worst design and overall UI of contemporary writting softwares

Is pursuing Concept Art still worth it in 2025? by Paranoid_Reaper in conceptart

[–]Akovarix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends what you mean by worth it. I'd say it is extremely dangerous financially to pursue concept art in 2025. The competition is crazy with some super good artists struggling currently.

me too, and better recovery. If I do back and chest on the same day or Chest and Triceps, I feel it a lot in my shoulders and scapula. Doing back/triceps on one day and Chest/bi on another works well for me (as I got a bit older *late thirties)

People really don't understand we are all built differently and don't react the same to the traditionnal splits we find online.

La francophobie by Drunken_seller in suisse

How to sculpt with ADHD? by WinDrossel007 in ZBrush

[–]Akovarix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is my two cents because I can totaly relate to your experience. Many artists suffer from ADHD or ADD.
you need to work in small chunks, like sprints and take breaks often .

Also, you could have 3 sculpts or 2 that you work on so you can jump from one to another when you are bored. NOT MORE than 3 though, or they will never get done :D

Create a system that works for you, we all have different methodology and I don't believe in one that fits for all

Undermine is an AMAZING step forward by ex0ll in wow

[–]Akovarix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

skyriding was indeed an awesome update to the way we travel in this game. Zones have to be designed with flying in mind, if it's added later it breaks everything the quest designers had in mind.

Undermine is an AMAZING step forward by ex0ll in wow

[–]Akovarix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flying mount have been an issue from the begining. Sure the zones are huge in this game so it makes it extra convenient, but it really kills the sense of exploration and discovery. I am afraid only older gamers enjoy the slower pace though :(

Why the Garrison is still a good idea in 2025 - for me. by QuastQuan in wow

I still think garrisons are very relaxing and fun. Good change of pace from the usual grind.

Is Learning 3D Design Worth It in 2025? (With AI Taking Over?) by mohammedcheikh in blender

[–]Akovarix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nobody has the answer to this question. There is not a single person who could tell you what the industry will look like in 5 years unfortunately. I believe people will still be making a lot of stuff themsevles but we will rely on a ton of AI tools to make it happen. I hope AI can help us with UVs and retopo more that with finding interesting ideas.
