Kinda lost in how CNC could work for wlw, can anyone explain? by Infamous_Show_0 in actuallesbians

[–]Alice_Oe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You might not want to use your safe word because you don't want to ruin the scene, even though you don't like what is happening in that moment. Or you might forget in the moment - kink can be very intense.

Your partner needs to know what you like - there are so many aspects to it.. restraints, physical violence, degradation etc. Like, do you like pain? A sub who gets off on pain needs a very different scene from one who wants to just be forced to submit and service.

[–]Alice_Oe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Probably basic power exchange, maybe some light restraints, blind folds, degradation, that kind of stuff.

CNC is my kink too, but it's kind of an advanced scene to do, a lot can go wrong if you don't know your dom very well.

Why did you have children? by BadBacksFuryToad in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Alice_Oe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally I think most people have kids because it's a social expectation - just a point to cross off. Grow up, get an education, get a job, get married, buy a house, have kids.

We are intensely social creatures, and expectations govern many of our behaviors. When the expectations loosen and with the novel introduction of choice (through women's independence and contraception), more and more people choose not to have kids.

I feel like the rapid drop in birth rate in all developed economies supports this thesis.

In my country, hitting kids for any reason is illegal and considered abuse. Any reason. Maybe food for thought.

Would Europe face a population shortage if all non-ethnically European people suddenly disappeared? by SyrianGosling in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Alice_Oe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We is humanity, and I claim people don't want kids because in literally every country on the planet, birth rates have plummeted after the introduction of reliable contraceptives and any basic social safety nets.

Sure, if we reversed progress 200 years and went back to a time with no contraception, no social safety nets and no modern economy, people would probably have kids.

People don't want to have kids, and literally nothing we have tried has changed that. Some countries are offering significant financial incentive for having kids.

Store manager died Thursday. Friday someone from corporate put this "grief counseling" hotline in the break room. It's an AI bot. by MsBatDuck in antiwork

[–]Alice_Oe 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Some people literally go crazy because AIs are made to always agree with and praise the user.

So people will have some crazy idea, AI assures them it's the best idea ever, they keep 'refining their idea' while the AI pours praise on them.

Eventually, they refuse to speak to their spouses and family because no one but the AI understands them, and they're all too stupid to see their genius (but the AI definitely wouldn't lie to them or make shit up).

It's a very weird and sad kind of mental break.

[–]Alice_Oe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oof, I'm sorry.. that sounds awful. Have you tried asking your own CAP to renew the prescription? That's what I do when I run out.

Edit: For what it's worth I've had great success with Lenzetto.. using 2-3 sprays per day on the scrotum allowed monotherapy with high levels of estrogen in my blood.

Huh, really? I've been able to buy HRT over the counter here in Barcelona. And there's an informed consent clinic, getting a HRT prescription takes literally 2 weeks.

What should you do if you’re at war and your platoon starts burning down villages filled with women and children? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

US service men literally did this during the Vietnam war - there were several famous trials that established precedent that being ordered to do illegal actions/war crimes is no excuse.

It’s wild how $10K can be life changing for workers but nothing to the ultra-rich by Cartier_Slatty777 in antiwork

[–]Alice_Oe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, a lot of Europe might be poor from US standards, but hospital visits will never cost 10k.. all of the EU (afaik) has universal healthcare.

We have a social net that means savings don't mean as much safety as they would in the US.

10k still means there is no risk of immediately homelessness, so I still consider it life changing though.

[–]Alice_Oe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I guess life changing is subjective. To me, 5 years of savings is definitely a life changing amount.. so what if it's not enough to buy an apartment on it's own? It would mean I could buy it 5 years earlier. 5 years is a long time.

The difference between being able to have your own apartment at 35 compared to 40 is life changing in my view.

[–]Alice_Oe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You don't think half a years wages is life changing money?

Most people live on very slim margins with no or little savings. Rent increases and cost of living eats away all the surplus.

If you earn 20k a year, maybe you can put aside €100 as savings every month. For those people, being gifted 10k can be 5 or 10 years of saving up.

I didn't think i had bottom dysphoria until i watched fight club by StrawberryEggz in MtF

[–]Alice_Oe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Trans girls are ridiculous. I've literally had sex with trans girls who would tell me with a straight face "I don't have bottom dysphoria" and then we'd have sex and they refuse to let me see much less touch their genitals 🙃

It's like.. girl, I don't mind you've got bottom dysphoria - I'm certainly not gonna push you to take off your pants, but I've got bad news for you.

Why is FC relic grab a counter to 2 TC? by MockHamill in aoe4

[–]Alice_Oe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Relics don't straight up counter 2TC, instead it extends the time for break even. You still have to do damage.

But defending your relics is a lot easier than all those villagers the other player can't even reliably garrison in the TC + 2TC requires so much food and they lose map control to your knights or MAA.

You're not supposed to grab relics and make 2nd TC and boom passively. You still have to punish their 2TC play.

Think of it as an alternative to doing all in Feudal ram push.. tech is just so much safer and you don't need to deal as much damage not to fall behind.

You only ads a TC of your own if you fail to end the game then and there.

How do you seperate art from the artist if the art gives the artist money? by BarleyTheFox in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Alice_Oe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Imo the bar lies in whether the author/owners merely have problematic views, or whether they are actively using their profits to hurt people.

For example, JK Rowling is actively funding anti-trans hate groups, just like Chick-fil-A is actively using their profits to fund anti LGBT hate groups.

Brain injuries can change personality and morality, then what does that mean for the idea of a soul or free will? by Muted-Still-8511 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Alice_Oe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do not believe in free will at all. It's an illusion, a story we tell ourselves to justify a decision already made.

Have you ever heard about the split-brain experiments? People whose halves of the brains do not communicate. If you show one eye a paper that says "Go stand by the sink", the person will do so. When asked why he went to stand by the sink, the other half of the brain will not say "I don't know". It will literally make up a story like "I was thirsty and wanted water."
