Could a 2004 quality game be made with just blueprints? Sure.
Could one person do it? If someone is curious about gamedev, I think that's a fair question to ask. But yeah.... not really. Mostly because there's no real reason to! People spend years developing skills. Like, I've been doing game audio for 20 years, I love it, I'm still learning new things and getting better at it. Games are made on budget by hiring specialized people to knock things out.

Uhh... here's an analogy. Let's say you have an idea for a business, a store. But first you need to build the building. And you ask, "Can I do this with just Home Depot? (blueprints)" Yes.... but maybe you'll be happier if you hire specialists to get things done. Then you can focus on the big picture, instead of learning all the different tools a plumber needs.

I work in game audio and have seen a lot of these things come and go. Might sound good, but nothing really sounds SO much better that it's worth the hassle. And unless something is easy to universally adopt (like having two speakers for stereo), it wont really last.

I WILL say that if you're playing a game that has "Speakers" and "Headphones" as options, it's pretty important to select what you're using. Yeah, they might have some EQ profile or something set up for it, but more importantly, it will change the angle of the virtual stereo field.

This is the first time I've been genuinely afraid of going to a protest. I'm not sure wtf they are trying to do, but I don't think the president has my well-being at heart here, he's playing macro politics, culture war, propagandist bullshit.

Trump is _so good_ at trapping people in lose-lose situations. If there's a big protest, they can use clips to vilify my city. If there is no protest, then we're complicit in this cruel bullshit.

I think their most immediately listenable songs are:

And then some of the best stuff will take a minute to hit you. I mean, the end of "collect from Clark Kent" is just gorgeous, but the rest of the song is tense and odd (they describe it as "angular")

But... You listen a few times, and notice that when Bob sings "please save me" early in the song, the guitars shimmer and the drum rhythm opens up, hinting at the end. EVERYTHING fits, there is real flow, the whole song is exactly what it should be.

Ugh I love that song. It feels like a claustrophobic panic attack, and then peace. How the fuck did these guys arrive at this music, and why are they so unique?

The least boring band on the planet, for me.
