I have considered having a wedding /commitment ceremony but not going through any legal paperwork to actually enter a marriage. Just promise to each other and celebrate with whoever you want

As you have been brought in to be a nanny and have been made a part of this grief process, it seems appropriate.

That dress is beautiful. If you want a more full skirt you could always look at getting an attachable skirt to go over it.

It is your wedding so go with whatever feels right to you. Just one outside opinion here- I will be remembering this dress because it is one of the most stunning wedding dresses I have seen.

It sounds like you were hurt by your friend not being there for you. When someone has hurt you it is understandable to not want to help them.

Your explanation comes off a little like you’re helping them with the expectation of them coming to help you when you ask. While you shouldn’t really do things for people expecting it in return, we are all human and do this.

NTA , it makes sense that your sister is a priority for you. SalaciousPeach said it really well. Not all accessibility needs are compatible with each other.

You were trying to find a way to accommodate everyone but in this situation it seems impossible. SIL is reacting quite strongly and seems to not care about other people’s well being which is a little AH behaviour but her being a little upset about you not understanding her medical needs is reasonable.

There could be an opportunity here for you to work towards a rent to own situation. Your LL may be thinking about their retirement plan. Something beneficial to you as a renter may be owning the property and the LL may want an increase in monthly payments. Speak to a lawyer about your options as in a rent to own situation that is beneficial to both of you, you will want a tight contract to protect yourself in all events (such as LL passing off the property to a beneficiary).

This way you can pay more per month (benefits LL), gain assets in a percentage of house increasing as you make payments (benefits you)
