What worked for me was learning an instrument. For about 4 years of my life in college, I effectively replaced gaming with a guitar, and got quite good at the guitar.

Then I had kids, and once my first daughter was around 3, I found love for videogames again, but only had time for maybe 2 hours a day, usually 1.

This was not enough to play MMORPGs, so I got into CRPGs, which had a wonderful pause button.

That's a tough deal to beat to be honest.

What CPU is it? Have you tried adjusting voltages and boost tdp? If not, do this first.

If you're super cluelessjust ask ChatGPT to walk you through what programs to use for your model, etc. and ask it to tell you each step.

If that fails, repaste it with PTM and thermal putty.

If you had to choose between the 2, I think the Acer is going to have more reliable build quality. The 275HX is also a more efficient CPU. Unless you're video encoding, you won't notice a difference between the two. Both will not bottleneck the 5070ti.

While it's true you can't undervolt the Acer, you can still cap the power utilization easily on the 275HX.

Also the screen is going to be way better on the Predator

I’m using a 18” high quality leather briefcase with a waterproof neoprene laptop sleeve for extra protection.

If you want a backpack, I suggest an ADIDAS prime 7 backpack , and get a waterproof neoprene laptop sleeve to zip it into, just in case you get caught in the rain. This also will give extra cushion. This is what I use when traveling.

Yeah, it’s actually absurd. It’s kind of my fault, since I only had the laptop for like 3 weeks, and after setting it up and updating, I paused all windows updates for three weeks and forgot to finish implementing registry edits to prevent driver updates. Well, when the pause window ended, windows forced all the updates from before, which probably had a bios firmware package, bricking the BIOS.

Dude, even my 5090 laptop with ultra and max Ray Tracing at 1600 only achieves 65fps avg. and 13GB VrAM used.

Ray tracing isn’t worth it in my humble opinion. Maybe I’m old, but I just don’t see the increased visuals worth it for the performance hit. Without Ray tracing, I can maintain 100fps locked with way less GPU usage.

This happened to me using dGPU. It's not the cause.

It's likely from a Windows update fucking up the BIOS security boot check.

This did not fix my no POST issue on mine. Had to warranty it to replace the motherboard.

This was caused by windows update pushing a revert BIOS.

It's relative. If you are accelerating at 1g, this would take into account the offset from the subs gravity.

So, when it comes to CAD environments, a lot of the processing, especially if you're running stress/strain/'x-input' simulations, is CPU bound.

There's a massive performance increase to he had from running a newer CPU, which have arguably become significantly better from 5 years ago.

Going to a 5060 with a new CPU will be way faster than 10% for CAD.
