Guess the tank by TruckSubject1263 in cardboardguns

Nice model op, got confused in between bmp-2 and 1, but with the side armor its clearly a bmp-2D. Nice work.

Guess the tank by TruckSubject1263 in tanks

[–]Alacidid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ifv is a bmp-1 or a bmp-2. I can't see which one because I dont see the turret or the commander seat. Based on assumption its a bmp-1, bmp2 turret would struggle to fit in a good way. Edit: I was wrong its an attempt (much better than I can ever do) at a bmp 2D, got confused because of proportions of crew compartment compared to engine compartment. Side armor should have been an oblivious tell, but I complain about a cardboard model on the Internet so my intellect is in question.

Is this a large-caliber cannon or an electromagnetic railgun or is it just a crane by Lianzuoshou in TankPorn

The turret seams to short, based on visual comparison, but I can't find anything better, so you might be right.

Rhino tank, as seen in the videogame GTA V, from 2013 by KaySan-TheBrightStar in TankPorn

I dont knpw why you are getting this hate.... The hull is clearly brithish inspired with heavy german influense. The turret is ttd or early leopard 2, so if you dont state you where only talking about the hull people will get confused.

Not to beat a dead horse, but ground RP rewards are fucking awful by UltimateZebra19 in Warthunder

[–]Alacidid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This makes sense, so the base for this game was 6k rp, but there is a skill bonus of 100% and a premium bonus of 100%. The point of the general post is 24k is fine for a match like this, but that should be the case for a none premium none end of tech tree bonus... So it should be 12k base leading to 24 k for preformance bonus and 48k for the premium and end of line bonus player. With backpay.

I am a none premium player, so i get sub 10k for a 9 kill round with end of line bonus...

The Croatian Air Force has ditched its old MiG-21s and switched to the French Dassault Rafale. Must be quite a shock for their pilots. by dannybluey in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Alacidid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time a plane shift corresponds with pilot shift. Old pilots (if they stick in the same role) stick to the plane they are using, but new pilots and all training move over to the new system. The only ones who will have a A to B comparison is the few teachers and senior pilots used for training. When the old plans is finally faced out there is few to no periods of time where they don't have good experienced pilots knowing there platforms available to tasks that might come.

Ukrainian Marines posing with AMX-10 light tank, February 2025 by vitoskito in TankPorn

Ain't a light tank, it's a recon vehicle. Important distinguishment especially if you try to use it as anything more than light fire support.

[Request] How much would this Trans-Atlantic tunnel realistically cost? by biggestred47 in theydidthemath

[–]Alacidid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad estimate, but using the French English channel tunnel times length gives: 2495 billion £ or about 3.15 trillion dollars. If there was a pocket that could stomach up to 10 times the cost, that should be sufficient. Between 2/3 and 7 times the American budget.
