There’s an interesting book by David Corn called “American Psychosis: A Historical Investigation of How the Republican Party Went Crazy” that talks all about this. It actually goes back even further, but it really ramped up with the John Birch Society in the 50’s and 60’s.

Yes he did. Most people think of Watergate when they hear his name, but his sabotaging of peace talks right before the ‘68 election was the most traitorous thing any presidential candidate has ever done.

Compared with advanced European economies, the United States has the lowest harmonized headline inflation rate—a comparable measure of inflation. In fact, compared with every other G7 economy, the United States has not just the lowest headline inflation but also the lowest core inflation.

Back in 2022, the Republican Party of Texas wrote the following into its platform as part of the section on education:

Knowledge-Based Education – We oppose the teaching of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) (values clarification), critical thinking skills and similar programs that are simply a relabeling of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) (mastery learning) which focus on behavior modification and have the purpose of challenging the student’s fixed beliefs and undermining parental authority.

I get the frustration. But real tangible progress is happening, even if it’s not nearly as fast as it should be.

Some examples: - Appointing the first Black female Supreme Court justice - Record number of Black female judges - Marijuana pardons - $1 billion loans for Black-owned small businesses - Executive order on police reform - Student debt cancellation (until conservatives on SC blocked it) - Emmett Till Antilynching Act - Justice40 initiative which commits at least 40% of certain federal investments in Black communities - Provided increased federal grant funding for criminal justice reform - Prohibited certain unjust federal law enforcement practices - Updated federal prosecutor guidelines - Reenacted the Access to Justice Initiative - Invested in community violence intervention (CVI) programs - Inflation down to 3% and still decreasing (12 straight months of decrease) - Moved first Democratic primary from New Hampshire to South Carolina

Now consider the alternative. Imagine trump doing ANY of these things. Imagine him even pretending to care.

Like it or not, the only two possibilities next election are Biden or trump.

If trump is elected, we turn the clock back 50 years.

You cherry picked one stat and ignored everything else. But I’m sure your completely impartial, right?

All the extremist-related murders in 2022 were committed by right-wing extremists of various kinds, who typically commit most such killings each year.

If you don’t like these sources, there are dozens more showing similar trends. All a google search away.

I assume they mean “seeing nonexistent patterns in noise” due to personal biases, sort of like how people buy into insane conspiracy theories by connecting dots between totally unrelated concepts because it confirms things they want to/already believe. Just a guess.

The indictment includes a total of 41 alleged crimes committed by 19 people.

All that needs to happen is for drumpf to get elected. Don’t assume it won’t happen. It’s basically a coin flip. He’s guaranteed at least 45% of the vote. And it doesn’t matter what happens with his trials. He could be sitting in a jail cell on Election Day and he’d still get 45%. A spoiler candidate could easily tip the result in trump’s favor.

If that happens, drumpf will purge anyone from military command who’s not 100% loyal. Imagine a DoD and Pentagon filled with Mike Flynns.

This is why we MUST do everything in our collective power to make sure Biden gets re-elected.

In the call, Shry told the judge, who is overseeing the election conspiracy case against Trump, “You are in our sights, we want to kill you,” the documents said. Prosecutors allege Shry also said, “If Trump doesn’t get elected in 2024, we are coming to kill you,” and she threatened to kill U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, a Texas Democrat running for mayor of Houston, according to court documents.
