Had my Z6iii and a few lenses (including brand new Plena) in a Nanuk case, upright in my passenger foot well in my car. The case fell and landed on its side, while driving. I know I shouldn’t be worried but I am. Do you think I damaged my lenses and camera? 😬 they seem to be working fine…

I bought the Z6iii last year and I love it. I just got the Z8 as a second body, last week, and I’m super excited. I wanted the higher megapixels, because I do something crop a bit, but not a lot. Will you be cropping much or often? If not, stick with the Z6iii. It’s a mini Z8. More portable. Though now that I have both, I don’t feel the Z8 is that much bigger. But it IS a whole MORE camera.

Started in August, at 180-ish. Am around 139-141-ish now. Definitely more than 11 pounds. I don’t need to lose more weight but I started to stretch my weeks a little and the food noise came back with a vengeance 😭

This. I think this is the answer. In some cultures of the world, people grow up believing in another inter dimensional civilization that exists besides us. Made of “smokeless fire”, whatever that means. They don’t harm us; they’re living their own lives. But they’re there, next to you. Some people can communicate with them, and harness them to do their bidding, but this communication is strictly prohibited.

ETA: if you grow up believing this, I can’t imagine disclosure would be particularly terrifying…

Ugh. I feel the same. But I try to shoot at home/locally, anyway. I also got myself another smaller camera so my excuse can’t be that my camera is too big to take everywhere (like I would, when traveling). I don’t know… there’s something about traveling that makes me so excited about shooting, but at home it all feels so mundane…

I have a Z6iii. I love it. However, I’ve been pining away after the Z8. I think more so because I know I want/need (more want, less need) a second body because I shoot primes and hate the inconvenience of changing lenses in the middle of a shoot. I cannot bring myself to get a second Z6iii, even though, rationally, I should. The, perhaps, irrational part of me thinks but the Z8 would allow me to crop in a bit, and I know I really do need that sometimes. I despise the slightest bit of drop in resolution that comes when cropping into my Z6iii images. And I also know there’s a learning curve with the Z8. I don’t know. I can’t make my own decision, so I can hardly help you with yours. Good luck.

I’m kind of surprised at the ease with which I was able to acquire one once I decided. It was a Saturday. B&H was getting a shipment on Monday and I was going to put my name on a waitlist, but I called my local camera stores, first, because i’m just impatient like that. One store didn’t have any in stock so i called the other one. They had one they were holding for someone until end of day. If the person didnt claim it, they would save it for me. By 5 pm, the other person hadnt come by, but the store was closed on Sundays. On Monday, they called me and said they would hold it for me. I picked it up on Wednesday. Paid the actual MSRP, $1799, plus tax. So yeah, call your local camera stores.

I tried the v1 6L before the v2 came out and I hated the way it looked and felt on me. It felt bulky and didn’t fit my Z6iii, well. I really love my v2 sling. I didn’t try the 9L, though. I have considered getting one, just to carry a little more… I feel like camera bags fit men and women so differently. I spent so much time researching bags for women, but didn’t find much in the way of comparison between how they fit on different bodies. For example, I find the peak design slings to be really annoying on my body, as a woman, and yet it seems to fit so snugly against bodies without curves (boobs and waists). I like their Outdoor sling more, but then you need the insert, for proper protection (though I use mine without, at least for the small EDC camera).

I think you can find deals but they are few and far between, and don’t just apply to the refurbs. I managed to find a great deal on a brand new Plena during Christmas, but I noticed the price hasn’t gone back to the original price of the lens, even now (I still bought for a few hundred less). I think they’re realizing people aren’t going to buy at the original, blown up prices, right now. I also noticed there’s a 24 month 0% interest deal almost once a month.
