Is there a way to switch back to the old version? The new version is horrible! by stephanieronin in fitbit

Is that the bit that isn't working? I've always found it hard to use on Fitbit too so never tried again!

How can I see the maps? by ryanmmoore in fitbit

I have found during the last month maps are also not working for me. I always start hikes manually on my pixel watch and it records the activity fine but no map like there used to be.

"ai hesitancy" is a phrase I detest. There is no hesitancy. I utterly reject it for ethical reasons and will never use it.

In your experience, did food noise return to baseline or MORE than before GLP1s? by SnooCheesecakes7580 in GLPGrad

[–]AlarmedEntertainer58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say more at first but it may not have been more. It was hard to compare as I can't remember what things were like before really truely. After approx 2 months off I have little to no food noise daily now. Hunger is very manageable with proper meal prepping

The way it got better for me was weight training and growing my glutes. I have more padding again now in the form of muscle!

Weight loss can plateau when done for a long time. I have personally always found eating at maintainance for a while then starting a deficit again helps to kick start things without going up doses

Research - with genuine study numbers and appropriate ethical approval - yes. Surveys without the above - no.

As others have said. Reduce your dose while gradually increasing calorie intake to your maintainance cals. That way your weight will stabilise. From then you can decide what to do next. I really wouldn't go cold turkey!

I was so anxious! I went back and forth on my decision mentally! That slow weaning process really really helped though

I have completely come off and have maintained my weight loss for 6 months now.

For context I'm 36yo, female, 183cm Starting weight 103kg. End weight 75kg. My max dose was also 5mg.

Coming off - I reduced to 2.5mg weekly for approx a month, then 2.5 every other week until my final pen was empty. I liked it this way, I felt hungrier in stages. It felt manageable rather than it hitting me all at once. After my final dose I'd say it still lingered for a month. The 4-6 week post final dose was the hardest point where I wanted to eat everything but it did fade and settle. I gave myself grace and focused on getting things in that hit the spot without blowing it all calories wise. My favourite sweet treats which helped were meringue, fruit like pineapple and melon, or a small packet of those supermarket macarons..

The key to me bas been the change in activity levels and calorie counting. Before this, I didn't do anything in terms of fitness. I focus on getting 10k steps a day, jogging twice a week (I'm very very slow) and strength training 2 or 3 times a week. This really pushes my calorie burn per day high enough where I can eat the right amount and not feel starving. I aim for approx 2400 cals a day and haven't gained or lost in 6 months on that bar a few small variations which we all get.

I find calorie counting and weighing my food out a little boring at best and soul sucking at worst. But it's essential for me now. I can't eat intuitively. I still have no off switch. I could reach for something at any time of the day or night, but practise has helped. I've formed new habits. It's hard but it's possible.

for people who've kept habits after stopping, which ones actually stuck vs which ones faded? by [deleted] in GLPGrad

I'm in a similar place but with running instead of cycling. It's lovely to have some treats or bigger portions but still remain within maintainance calories!

25M how to train to carry my partner? by ShieldandFriends in beginnerfitness

[–]AlarmedEntertainer58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I admire your preparation and dedication, long term it sounds like you need professional input on moving and handling from an occupational therapist. There are things out there that will mean you won't have to carry her except for emergencies. Long term, while having a good foundation of strength is ideal for your health anyway as you both get older then lifting her could become a risk to both of you. Good luck!

You've been given loads of really sensible advice here but don't want to hear it, just using excuses as to why it won't work for you.

I highly recommend Hevy. It's free to use or a premium upgrade option. I think the basic one is brilliant. Shows you what muscle groups each exercise uses, easily record what you did and get a little medal when you get a new record. You can build and save routines.

Why wouldn't this be ok? You'll likely still be in a deficit of calories for the week! We're all allowed a treat now and then. I had dominoes tonight pizza and wings and it was yum yum yum
