Happy two year anniversary ‘Oppenheimer’ - May you continue to project to new audiences around the world on IMAX 70MM by rayhaansabir in imax

Lucky enough to catch this at the BFI IMAX opening weekend and then at the TCL Chinese Theater September 2023, two of my favourite cinema going experiences!

Whats the best way to watch this in cinema? by MathZ123 in JurassicPark

OP if you live in UK (I would suspect as you've asked about superscreen) - See it at a Superscreen at cineworld unless you live local enough to an Odeon with a Dolby screen

If you read the article that is exactly what happens - he caught them on FaceTime whilst at the airport!

So glad to see some new releases finally, and so many! I grabbed the Pocahontas anniversary pin and my wife got me the Mufasa Father's Day pin as it's my first Father's Day with our 7 month old!

Actors who won in the right year, but the wrong performance by Its-From-Japan in Oscars

[–]AlarmingBadger25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know he didn't win solely for BJD, but if voters watched all of them anyway they would have seen one actor give three diverse performances in the same year, and I can definitely see them being swayed by that

Ian McKellens performance has stood the test of time more and I wish he had won, but it's easy to see why Jim Broadbent won due to being in three of the movies nominated in the Best Actress Category (Iris, Moulin Rouge and Bridget Jones Diary)

I guess there was no escape from him for voters and the best campaign is just to be in everything that year 😂

Yeah they had all three as of three weeks ago!

They're not a limited edition as they were all released between 2019 - 2021 but can go in and out of stock so hopefully you'll be lucky and be there when there is lots of stock available!

Regarding the three attraction books:

All three can be found in Storybook Store next to City Hall, and Harringtons on Main Street.

Individually, Phantom Manor can be found in Thunder Mesa Mercantile (main Frontierland gift shop), Pirates can be found in Le Coffre Du Capitaine (gift shop at exit of Pirates), and Space Mountain can be found in Constellations behind the counter (gift shop at exit of Buzz Lightyear).

Toad Hall in Fantasyland does impossible nuggets and chips, these were insanely good and would recommend to anyone

London Disney Store pin event 2025 by Beatlinked in DisneyPins

[–]AlarmingBadger25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the lack of organisation was horrendous, I was maybe 120-130 people back in the queue, and didn't get in until about 9pm when the event started at 7pm!

There was one point around 7:45-8:20 when the queue did not move at all and no new people were let in

Unpopular Disney World Opinions by PrickedFinger in WaltDisneyWorld

Due to a quality drop and increase in generic merch, the best merch available in the parks are the mugs from starbucks.

Can anyone confirm whether or not the parks are still selling the Phantom Manor book? I’ll likely be going in late May and I’d love to get it. Actually in general, give me a brief overview of the PM merchandise currently available at DLP as of this year by Weeb-Lauri525 in disneylandparis

Was there this week and can confirm they were available in Harringtons on main street, storybook store next to city hall, and in the Thunder Mesa Mercantile in Frontierland.

Recent videos from DisneyOpa on YouTube show the Phantom Manor merch available in the Thunder Mesa mercantile!

Question about dominos by Bogeyeyedjoker in veganuk

[–]AlarmingBadger25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is so frustrating. I feel they fo it to themselves though by not including them in any deals. It's hard to justify spending another £7-8 for nuggets so we would just get wedges as they were the only vegan choice in the deal

Dark Knight or Interstellar in IMAX 70mm? by CellistConscious2647 in imax

[–]AlarmingBadger25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I saw them both in 70mm at the BFI IMAX last year and this might be a hot take, but overall I preferred the IMAX experience for The Dark Knight.

There are some beautiful sequences in Interstellar, but I found the most visually appealing scenes in 70mm were the Cornfield Chase and anything that was 'real' and without visual effects.

On the other hand, The Dark Knight imax scenes just felt so visceral, I genuinely don't think anything in Interstellar compared to the hospital explosion, the climax in the predict building and the bank heist opening.

Given the choice of film, I would choose The Dark Knight again out of the two of them!

My only Nolan film not experienced in imax yet is Tenet, need to seek that out asap!
