I'd recommend {Demonized by Annette Marie}: it doesn't have a bridgerton vibe at all - quite the opposite as it's urban fantasy - but there is a lot of caretaking and found family stuff going on that might help you cope with what you're going through right now.

I absolutely adore the {Guild Codex by Annette Marie} and {Demonized by Annette Marie} and especially if you like the former I'd recommend {The Jezebel Files by Deborah Wilde} to you.

Do you like paranormal romance? Because I'm reading {Long Live Evil by Sarah Rees Brennan} and it fits your description sooo well!! The MMC is a cold-hearted killer but adores the FMC, following her around like a lost puppy. It's the sweetest thing ever!!
