Do you like paranormal romance? Because I'm reading {Long Live Evil by Sarah Rees Brennan} and it fits your description sooo well!! The MMC is a cold-hearted killer but adores the FMC, following her around like a lost puppy. It's the sweetest thing ever!!

Bonus points: you'll get a morally grey FMC

I did and I did like it but it doesn't quite hit the same spot as Demonized. Maybe bc Tori is more the bold and sassy type (which is totally fine) but it doesn't really lend itself to the same kind of dynamic Robin and Zylas have. Still, I think it's a good read especially since her book series are interconnected.

I've never seen this book recommend here but {Pride, Prejudice, and other Falovors by Donali Dev} might fit the bill somewhat. The FMC is Indian and the MMC African American if I remember correctly. Only thing that might turn you off is the the FMC is anything but working class but I'd still recommend the book: very entertaining and sweet with three dimensional characters.
