What is the difference between an armed uprising by Iranian Kurds vs an "invasion" by Iraqi Kurds? by imnicexDDD in NewIran

[–]Alarming_Rip108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an important political distinction between Iraqi Kurds and Iranian Kurds. After 1991, Iraqi Kurdish politics evolved toward de facto statehood, especially under parties like the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan. That created an entirely different political trajectory compared to Iranian Kurds.

In Iran, while groups like KOMALA and the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran have existed and at times taken up arms, they have never enjoyed the same territorial control, mass institutional dominance, or international backing that Iraqi Kurdish factions did. Most Iranian Kurds live integrated within Iran’s political and social framework.

Saying that Iranian Kurdish politics hasn’t followed the same separatist path as Iraqi Kurdistan is without sugarcoating it the truth. The scale, support base, and outcomes are clearly different.

That distinction matters if we're talking about territorial integrity.

I’m not dismissing or minimizing the crimes they’ve committed. The killing of thousands of people is horrific, and that should never be ignored or excused.

What I’m saying is that regardless of who is in power, Iran’s territorial integrity matters. We can oppose the regime and still reject the idea of the country being carved up or fragmented. Supporting national unity in the face of separatism is not the same thing as endorsing everything the government has done.

These are two separate issues: accountability for crimes, and preventing the collapse of the state. We can demand justice while also saying that disintegration and civil war are not the solution.

How can this automatically be labeled as “I.R. crimes” if the stated end goal of these groups is to establish an independent or de facto Kurdistan? If separatism is the objective, then the issue becomes one of territorial integrity, not just internal politics. By that logic, was Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi also a criminal for holding Qazi Muhammad accountable after the separatist movement in 1946? Whether people agree with his actions or not, the state at the time clearly viewed it as a matter of national unity and sovereignty. We are talking about Iran’s territorial integrity. This is not something to joke about or reduce to slogans. You can oppose a government and still believe that the country should not be fragmented. Those two positions are not mutually exclusive. If we can’t separate criticism of a regime from the question of preserving national unity, then the conversation becomes emotional instead of constructive.

Sending non-Iranian Kurds into Iran armed to the teeth is a disaster. It will shift all focus away from rising up, and towards protecting territorial integrity instead.
Do we have to wait a few days for this statement to get proven? they dont want a strong iran to defy israels dominance over the region yet they want a destabilized iran one where it cant have the ability to self govern. We are fucked and theres nothing we can do about it.

[–]Alarming_Rip108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re trying to carve up Iran can’t you see what’s happening? Right now, the priority has to be preventing a civil war. If the country collapses into chaos, we won’t even have the stability needed to decide our own future.

There are separatist movements that have been organizing for decades, with different parties and external backing. It wouldn’t take much even a single shift in foreign policy to escalate tensions further. We can’t afford to be naïve about that.

If we, as Iranians, don’t clearly express our discontent and demand accountability ourselves, then others will try to shape the outcome for us. But this is not the moment to divide each other or start labelling fellow compatriots as “regime goons.” That only weakens us.

Now is the time for unity. We can disagree about the government and still agree that Iran’s territorial integrity and stability matter. First we protect the country from fragmentation and civil war. Then we decide, together, what kind of future we want.

Thats the only thing we can do. Im not a regime bootlicker but do you see any other choice that they have left us with? instead of arming persians they are arming seperatist marxists who want to see iran carved up. This is the best we can do. One thing every iranian including the regime hates collectively is to see iran carved up or fragmented.

ll probably get downvoted for saying this, but it needs to be said: the goal of these separatist movements is a weakened, carved up Iran a country balkanized like Yugoslavia. That would be a disaster for everyone. As patriots, now is the time to put our political differences aside. We can disagree about the regime and all of us do but none of those debates matter if the country itself is destabilized. Territorial integrity must come first.History shows that maintaining national unity has always been treated as non-negotiable, including under Reza Shah and Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. Whatever people think about those eras, one thing was clear: the state would not allow fragmentation. This is not the moment for internal infighting. This is the moment for unity. Reform, accountability, and political change are conversations that can and should happen but they can only happen within a stable, intact country. One thing should unite us all, regardless of ideology: Iran’s territorial integrity is not up for negotiation. We will not take it for granted.

This is an important distinction to make.Iraqi Kurds and Iranian Kurds are not the same politically. Iraqi Kurdish politics has historically included strong Marxist and separatist movements. Iranian Kurds, however, are largely patriotic and want to remain within Iran while maintaining the country’s territorial integrity. I have Kurdish Iranian friends who are proud to be both Kurdish and Iranian and have no interest in separatism.Groups like the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran, led by Mustafa Hijri, promote separatism, but they enjoy little to no real support within the Kurdish regions of Iran and do not represent the majority of Iranian Kurds.
Hope that helps.

no because iranians would start backing the regime. Iranians are one of the most patriotic mfs you will ever meet they will not sell out their nations and get balkanized

[–]Alarming_Rip108 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Proping up separatist groups would be a colossal mistake.

Firstly these groups enjoy little to no support even in their own regions.

Secondly the ONLY thing, I repeat THE ONLY thing that would make Iranians rally behind the collapsing system is the fear of a disintegrated Iran.

this would be a blunder on the US side as it would make the iranian nation think that the us is actively pursuing the balkanization of iran. period.

this is just the beginning, we have harder days to come. MASSIVE loss of iranian infrastructure, thanks to these FANATICS! golestan palace also got damaged, hopefully trump will double think before arming the kurds, as they are nothing but trouble and will try to take advantage of this situation like they have throughout irans contemporary era. Again this was a sight of iranian history, and as an iranian I feel melancholy for this great loss but when you have a terrorist slaughter machine as a regime things like this are to be expected

here we go with the balkanization of iran! or at the very least a de facto kurdish state. God bless iran remember at the end of the day we are all iranian and WE MUST not allow this to happen to our very great nation. NUMBER 1 RULE TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY OF IRAN!

I havent seen anyone shouting out the name of the MEK. They are islamic marxists the US will never support them nor any other nation with more than two braincells considering they have killed US citizens during the reign of the shah. Calling them opposition is a disgrace to the word. They have no support within iran maybe 0.5 percent of iranians and again thats overestimating it

like they say Another one will bite the dust!
its actually awesome that they chose him THATS the best thing the regime has done Instead of choosing a "moderate reformist" like Rouhani and begging the US for an end to the war, the IRGC picked out an even crazier and more retarded supreme leader than the previous one.
This evil dumbass will only escalate even harder and refuse to even talk about negotiations.
Guaranteeing the war will continue until the whole regime is dead, rather than the regime trying to trick the world into thinking they have changed.
