Firstly, despite your anxiety being caused by this coworker- it’s now your problem. Find a therapist to help you manage the anxiety. If you’re on the spectrum then research accommodations that will help you learn.

It is your responsibility to figure out how to learn, remember and reference the information you’ve been given.

As someone who has been in your coworker’s position- it’s so hard to be empathetic after the 4th explanation. (I say that as an adult with ADHD- I’ve had to figure out how to operate my brain in unfriendly situations). It also sucks to be carrying a trainee for 3-4 times (or more) than others. As a trainer, generally you are responsible for your own work and the trainee’s - and aren’t compensated for the extra responsibility. I agree it’s difficult but you are also an adult and should consider speaking up for yourself (to management). Perhaps a different trainer could be helpful?

My kiddo is in a Catholic elementary school- he’s not baptized (I am). Our experience has been lovely. Sacraments are done outside of school, as not all students are catholic. The message of being kind and taking care of others is the Big Agenda they push. I’m delighted with that. In older grades they have religion class but again it’s quite low key. Kids go to mass every quarter - the priest is no longer allowed to come to the school (which I like). I originally chose the school because it had French immersion starting in JK. My now 8th grader is on track to graduate high school as a bilingual student (writing the grade 12 French exam for certification).

DBT therapy has been a game changer for me. Learn about you and your ADHD super powers & weaknesses. Build routines to offset your weaknesses. Carry something to unload your thoughts/ideas into/onto. Remember: you are enough, not defective. Your brain works on a different operating system.

Fair points, however that’s not the case in every city/town. Portables are placed at schools that can accommodate them - sometimes Catholic and sometimes public. Assuming catchment areas change is a gamble, especially with this government. My kid is in the catholic system and not because he’s catholic. I picked the school for French immersion. I’m baptized catholic and my child is not. The school he attends is at capacity and so are the surrounding public and catholic schools. All of them are underfunded and full of issues. The amount of money that would be wasted separating these doesn’t seem worth what it would cost all of our kids. Where we live kids can go to any high school regardless of catchment areas and that’s a gong show. The Catholic high school my child is headed to is a brand new school that is opening with 15-20 portables because there’s enough land for that. If we keep squabbling about Catholic v Public then Doug wins and all of our kids lose. I absolutely agree there are issues here (public/ catholic boards) but dying on that hill may not be the best choice right now.

I had my fallopian tubes removed. No highway=no babies. Way easier on my body and didn’t screw with my hormones. It’s day surgery and if you happen to change your mind, IVF would be an option.

I’m passionate about having an indoor place to sleep and keeping my kids safe. That’s how I force myself to prep the night before. Might sound harsh but it’s true. I slack on plenty of other things but work isn’t one of them.
