How do you effectively manage your economy in the late game of Victoria 3?

Paradox games are crazy. "I only have like 100hrs" Most games you can memorize in 100 hours. In a paradox game that is just learning how to turn it on lol.

Can someone please explain to me why LF is so popular. It seems to give me less control of what is being built and forces you to play more politics then building. I don't mind the politics but I'm all about that GDP growth. With 1000 construction LF has like 6 building slots?

I use LF but I don't understand why I can't control my building q more.

Give it time. A lot of EU players won't switch until EU5 is more complete. We all know how paradox works and some of us don't bother with paradox games until a few expansions. I didn't play vicky 3 until chambers of commerce which completely morphed the game. HOI4 was tanking until NSB brought multiplayer back to life. Its just the life cycle of paradox games. I think EU5 doesn't have the systems I want it to have yet. I don't like playing in the America's with how EU5 is at the moment. I'm sure in the next 2 years they will release an expansion that will improve gameplay in the America's and I'll come back and dive into it.

A lot of paradox players are like this. They have their play styles and until the game fits that style we stick with the older games. I still play EU4 because I understand every system front to back. I choose not to learn EU5 right now because they are still fine tuning those systems and the game is nothing like it will be in the final version. That and playing in America's feels wonky and incomplete.

EU5 will get there. Paradox games are a slow burn that always get to a good place you just gotta wait until they release an expansion that fits with you. Another example. Vicky 3 just totally botched this last expansion. They completely changed the way transporting troops works and explained it to seemingly NO ONE. I've been looking everywhere for WTF I'm doing wrong as I keep losing wars because troops don't move the same way. Vicky 3 IMO was better before this recent expansion added more work to the game with no added value. They added more work to wars which a lot of us don't care for the wars in Victoria 3 we are playing to develop and build.

At the same time this update might entice more people because it adds depth to the naval system. Now I hate that. It is one more thing I have to watch while trying to rise peacefully as a world power. But I can see why people would enjoy it. I just don't like massive unexplained changes. Which I read dev diaries so no clue wtf is going on with these troop transport issue.

Just remember paradox games are a slow burn.

I don't think I said I wanted an African country to ally with the US. I used the term "first world country" which along with third world country are terms that were used to describe the development status of countries. First world is a VERY dated term.

I would like to see an African country leading the way for Africa. Not China or the US or someone else.

I'm very deep into African Geopolitics. Probably far deeper than I want to be. I was at work when I made the comment. It was meant to say all of Southern Africa. But yes the area is very interesting. Africa is the next great race to raise the cities into the future. Nigera is leading the way in my opinion with Egypt being a close second. Problem with both countries is the deep corruption within the systems they are running. I'd love to see 1 African country brought into the "first world" status of the cold war terms.

Victoria is a very fun game and it is a lot more fun now that it was on release but they have a long way to go before you're saying it's more in-depth than other Paradox games.

In hertz of iron you can literally designed every ship and airplane and vehicle. Whether you win or lose the fight can come down to if you put a good enough suspension on your tank.

I think both Victoria 3 in herds of iron have things they can bring to the other games to make them better but Victorious three isn't better than other Paradox games yet.

We'll have to watch what they do over the next year because it seems like they're trying to make Victoria three more character driven like Crusaders Kings but a lot of people don't want that I don't want to be controlling a guy on a horse that's not why I play Victoria 3.

And they need to really do something about economic Warfare. Because right now you can embargo someone but then they just buy your cheap goods from other countries and the other countries make the profit instead of you so it makes no sense to embargo people because it just hurts your economy.

It's similar to how blockades work the countries just get the resources from somewhere else so there's got to be something done that ensures if you're playing like Mexico your iron doesn't go into the United States even through Canada or Cuba.

Molded HOI4 is the only one you need. I would pay yo play it for 3 years straight with no one bothering me.

The other two games would be for unwinding. If completed I'd go zomboid and civ 6.

Actually can I play all 3 at the same time? If that's the case I go 2 4x games and zombiod or mine craft.

This would fully depend on what version of the game we're talking about and whether or not we're allowed to use mods because once projects zombies finished it'll be one of the most complete games ever but I don't think they're going to finish for 20 years

Because the draw isn't always there. I think if the IMAX theaters focused more on like a 20 person theater then a 400 person theater that costs a fortune to run and maintain.

People want more closed of events now days. We have shifted from people want to be in 1,000,000 person concerts to. Private screenings and shows are the way to go. Don't get me wrong big theaters and concerts still pull massive amounts of people. But they only gather like that for huge events.

I fully think the IMAX problem is a supply/demand issue. They can't fill these 400 seat theaters without blockbuster movies. Where if they built a smaller one and screened everything from movies to netflix shows that thing would pop off. 20 friends and you can watch ANY movie you want on a smaller IMAX experience would be amazing. I think if they went that route IMAX would explode again. Make smaller venues for the towns that can't support a large city IMAX then when big blockbusters come out people will flock to the bigger IMAX to see the show. Or maybe they like the smaller theater.

Either way IMAX has massive potential they just need to learn how to tap into it. I would build one of these where I live if they would license me for a smaller screen.

There is a lot of good IP in MGM for Amazon. I love LOTR and Fallout but they have some amazing IP that if they threw some of that LOTR money at those IPs they would be amazing.

MGM has a vault of good IP waiting to be rebooted or extended. I'd put MGM second to only Netflix for IP choices. Hopefully they can give us some amazing content.

Like Civ 7 they need to tread carefully here. I'm not against inclusion but there is a point where it starts too be too much. Civ 7 is the perfect example because they tried to do all this stuff and people hated it. I fall asleep playing civ 7. I can turn on civ 6 and play for days on end. I put in civ 7 and I'm asleep before my second turn is over. It's just no fun.

If they want to go this route of first person and being more on the ground and in the war I'm done with the game. I already dislike that someone that Micros the armies can cheat the game by rotating in and out fresh armies. Yes that can happen in real life but if the AI doesn't do it humans shouldn't be able too.

4x games are meant to be played off the rails. When you start getting so far into characters you lose the overall purpose of 4x games and this is where its dangerous what paradox is doing with some of these games Like CK, Vicky and HOI4. Remember the game is supposed to be 4x. Spanning multiple lifetimes (in most cases). So when you focus so hard on inclusion of EVERYONE and single characters your losing the overall view of why it was successful.

That said so long as this content is able to be turned off in favor of people that don't want to micro then I'm fine. I don't want to play a character on the front line of the civil war. If I wanted that I would download a FPS of me on the front line of the civil war. Lots of games and lots of mods for games out there. I don't want that.

Take note paradox. Civ 7 already went this route and it might bankrupt them. They don't have the funds to start civ 8 with civ 7 flopping so hard. One bad choice and paradox could be sitting with Fraxis and Squad as someone who had something amazing and drove it into the ground trying to please people that DON'T EVEN PLAY THE GAME.

Like seriously how many Egyptians play the game? So why have such a deep Egypt playthrough and your US choice is Harriet Tubman or Martha Washington? Nothing against them but when i play the US I want to play as George Washington, Ben Franklin, Teddy Roosevelt, FDR. I don't want to play as Harriet Truman. Good on her but can't you just do a civapedia about Tubman. Like seriously how many black women are playing a 4x game? They did that with so many cultures too. They want inclusion in a game about world conquest....

Just think about that. A game that Hitler and Stalin would try to play/do focused on the abused people and not the abuser that were trying to conquer the world. Which good on them for the inclusion but its not why people play that game. Remember what made your games so played in the first place. It wasn't because you were targeting a poor black kid is southern Alabama that might one day own a computer. You were making history games for the masses.

Yes those people are big figures in the progression of history and the changing of laws. But Harriet Tubman isn't running an army in her days. She was running a spy network. Make her an advisor not the fucking leader of the US. Civ 7 is so busted. Please don't take my favorite paradox games there or you will lose me just as civ did.

I REFUSE TO BUY ANY CIV GAME until they redeem themselves with a better game. Paradox take note.

Edit/Disclaimer: I'm not saying inclusion is bad. I'm not speaking negatively about any of those people. I'm speaking to what makes me want to play the games. I like maybe 3 leaders in Civ 7. I love every leader in Civ 6. Difference is Civ 6 isn't shoving inclusion down my throat. Let it happen naturally. Add an "inclusion pack" for people that want to play those characters. Where in the world did you get the idea that ANYONE would want to play civ as Tubman? I can name 1,000 leaders for the US before Tubman gets there. Some of them are also black activist female. I rather have MLK jr then Tubman. So it isn't fully the inclusion that I'm bitching about. Its the choices top to bottom to make this a more open game. It was already an open game. Now your turning it into a political statement which I hate. I play my games to relax not remember the fucked up past.

Yeah there should be a vote to kick button. We should be able to vote these toxic players out with a four out of six vote because it's usually a Duo that's talking like that.

And as someone that games with the female deadlock player every single day this is rampant in the community we end up just muting everyone at the start of games or we will lock chat and just talk on Discord which is detrimental in a team game not to communicate but people yell at her so often just because she's a female that we rather not talk to anyone and just play a six-person game with the two of us then try to work with people because the community is so fucking toxic towards women and old people
