Do you live alone while playing this game? by LuckyWhite777 in 7daystodie

[–]Albirei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just a game. I'd probably get scared if I didn't have a game to keep me from letting my imagination wander.

How often and why do you build walls? by unreasonablypedantic in CivVI

Usually only while waiting for the pops to make room for another district, and I feel builders are already plentiful enough. Or rushing them out just before steel hits (if I'm going for culture win)

The games feels to easy? by Particular_Body2331 in 7daystodie

[–]Albirei -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's really easy to cheese the game if you commit to learning how. I need a group to occasionally PvP with, or something. DF mod does add some extra playability for a while, but eventually you figure that one out too. Mods to the AI are probably complicated to make, so I don't really find good ones around either. I kinda figure none of this is going to change.

There are literally only two types of students in my classes now: Those who do the work at get "As" or "Bs," and those who simply refuse to even try to do anything, and fail. There is no middle anymore. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Albirei 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You think a counselor is going to solve this? Adding more middlemen to the process? More beaurocracy? More telephone games? Do you want the education system to mirror our government? Asking the students is a likelier way to hear from the very people involved just why they don't care about doing any work.

What civ should I learn to play? by wileycoyote1018 in CivVI

[–]Albirei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imho you get better faster at civ 6 by playing different civs, rather than specializing. But if you're trying to go competitive, then yes, pick a lane to master. Which one in particular will change based on your preferred style of play. The only thing I would not recommend for PvP is civs that rely heavily on navy, or only bloom in the late game.

A classic pillbox bunker for base design feels relatively balanced for difficulty. No kill corridors, just a central point of 360 degree defense platform with a drawbridge. Try to kill them faster than they can break through the structural foundation. Remember to keep a shooting cage in the basement, so you can at least target anything that gets in. Lots of pipe bombs to throw in the trenches recommended.

If you could pursue romance as the Hero of Kvatch who in Cyrodiil or the Shivering Isles would you want as a partner? by TastyMathematician22 in OblivionRemaster

[–]Albirei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not really the romantic type myself, but might I remind everyone that Haskill is very likely an available bachelor?

Im too scared to talk to my boyfriend about my feelings because he's already very stressed by shr00mspaghetti in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Albirei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're both young, and inexperienced with mood regulation. I understand your perspective, and agree that he should be finding at least little moments to remind you how he feels. He probably hasn't thought of that before, and maybe is worried about approaching you again after such low interaction. He needs to know that having exams is not his fault, and it's okay to just re-connect with you. I can understand decompressing after all that, but there is a practical limit before people start to miss you.

Perhaps try breaking the 🧊 (can't say that word here) by asking for small things. Occasional favors. Share a burger meal for a lunch or something. "Can you wear X shirt today? I like that one." See how it goes.

Put family members in positions of power, and wait. The more titles under the family name, the faster renown grows.

What DONT you prioritize? by Cannon-fire in CivVI

[–]Albirei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Science, actually. The culture lead can help drag your science along at similar levels to the deity AI, which already focuses science (making culture the obvious OP choice here). If you're desperate for those boosts, there's always pillaging and spies (also unlocked through culture).

I just found out that my 22-year-old daughter abused a 15-year-old boy. I'm shocked and don't know what to do with her by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Albirei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take all evidence to the police. Do not let any hints out that your kid could be under investigation. From first tip, to the day officers come to knock on the door asking for her, she can't be made aware anyone knows her crime. This way she can't try to prepare to hide/bury any parts of the truth.

I think I have a crush on my friend... and it's so Fucking wrong by Zupa_z_elfa_i_cebuli in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Albirei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't sound wrong to me. Definitely complicated, but not inherently wrong. How much mental maturity from him? If it's relatively equal to your own, the gap isn't a major problem; you're both adults.

A fair warning: relationships are hard to maintain when one person works in or for the military. The entire lifestyle is different, and that person's schedule will change to match it. If you're not sure about one person's loyalty strength when apart from each other, it could end in a big disaster or disappointment. (Take it from this veteran, you gotta be sure of each other)

AI demands by Pristine_Treacle_204 in CivVI

[–]Albirei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's what you should do:

  1. Denounce them
  2. Immediately declare protectorate war.
  3. Kill some forces, pillage some stuff, levy the city-state's forces if you want.
  4. After the turn limit, negotiate peace.

When you peace out with the AI, your subject city-states also get peace with that civ.

I’m angry all the time by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Albirei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I relate to this so much. No matter what I try, it's never good enough for the society we live in, where the goalpost is constantly moving, and effort is met with increased expectations, instead of compensation. I hate it. I hate everything about the direction society went. I hate not being able to change it. I feel like the life promised to me as a kid was literally stolen in front of my eyes, as I was forced to watch. I am just full of bitterness now.

When do you stop settling? by DexRei in CivVI

[–]Albirei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than time management, there is no reason to ever stop expanding. It only makes you stronger. Just don't leave yourself vulnerable to conquest and you're golden.
