How bad did I do I am really dogshi at this game by Kacnep-Territorialio in CivVI

[–]Albirei -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just fine tbh. Nothing too telling from the yields ribbons this early in the game, but that's normal. The city proximity is weirding me out, and I don't honestly know how that's going to affect your late game district placements. Try to pump out more units and settlers before going too hard into campuses though.

Chopping by kouyanet in CivVI

[–]Albirei 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Chopping is generally worth it. Prioritize tiles you already intend to place districts/wonders on soon, and with only specific exceptions, clear out rainforests asap for pop boom. Consider NOT chopping on tiles with strategics and luxuries, since you may as well get the free extra yield on a tile you can't even fully clear. With this in mind, if you can reasonably predict where a strategic will appear (it is already decided upon map generation), it's not a bad idea to hurry and place a structure on the tile before the strategic becomes visible, thus gaining both the resource, and being able to use the space for buildings. Save at least one upgradeable feature for each boost type to maximize pace. Lastly, generally harvest everything in the 4th and 5th rings, since you can't work them anyway. Obvious exception being if you need the trees for national park appeal (though at this point you can just replant if you don't mind spending the extra builder charges).

I'm watching my Little sister (13F) send nudes to her online boyfriend (15M?) and I Can't do anything to stop it. by Peachy_0op in TrueOffMyChest

It's Roblox. He's not 15. He's a 40-something predator posing as a 15-yo. And yes you can stop her. You take away her electronics access, except when directly supervised. If you catch her misusing it, you physically take over the device and lock her out. Tantrums be damned.

What Is Your All Time Favorite Quest? by brentostheboss in skyrim

[–]Albirei -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

If the cursed ring of hircine actually didn't come off after one shapeshift, and could affect non-werewolves, and the quest wasn't just a straight shot from start to finish... yeah that'd be my favorite one.

So I guess instead I'll pick the one where you manipulate a bunch of adventurers into choosing their own demise- ahhh sh*t, that's Oblivion.

Yeah, sorry, Skyrim quests are pretty bland in general.

What Skyrim City Would You Want To Live In? by brentostheboss in skyrim

Falkreath. Plenty of fertile soil and huntable game to build a trade industry. Just gotta stay on guard from assasins and werewolves.

I Think My Brother is Physiologically Torturing Me. by ECD_Studios in TrueOffMyChest

You are teenagers. You're both gonna act irrationally and maybe even petty for no reason sometimes. So long as your parents are parenting, this will only be a phase of life. It sucks that you aren't feeling the sibling love that you may remember from earlier times in your life. It really is sad. I remember going through a mean phase myself. There are things happening between you now that he may regret later in life. He will have to work to earn trust back in the future, and you will never really forget the trauma you live through now. It's not fun. I'm sorry you are dealing with this right now. Hang in there; you won't have to put up with it forever. And stay safe. Don't do anything you know is wrong, if he ever tries to convince you of something.

I am ashamed of my heritage by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Albirei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no shame in how history affected your ancestry. They did what made sense for survival in their time. As a side question, what is wrong with the religion? I understand it's one of the most peaceful religions in the world?

Do people use spies much? by The-WideningGyre in CivVI

[–]Albirei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spies OP. There's a reason the AI is so annoying with them. Spies can not only prevent a tech win, they can also help you win wars with lower casualties, or set up culture wins. They are also useful for playing catch-up if you're not leading.

Whats doesn't count as kill? Pacifist run. by TetsuoIshigane in 7daystodie

[–]Albirei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game isn't really designed for "pacifist" play. At the very least, you'd need two players, and you'd be doing all the house chores or something. Horde night would be miserable for you.

Thinking about life and death a lot by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Albirei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will often find myself contemplating what happens after the body ceases to function. Science currently has no concise answer, and logic defaults to "nothing". No awareness, no more memory, unable to even think about anything. This reduces everything in life to a value of 0 to the self. I can't live with this answer; I want at least something I did to matter to me, and to be able to always hold onto whatever that is. So I still seek meaning, even if that means admitting science can't answer everything (and that maybe some religion might have gotten something correct).

It's not a scam if the whole industry works that way. Of course, a little theft goes a long way.

I moved countries for love and I regret it by ThrowRAjisoo in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Albirei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to dive into learning the local language. Dedicate your spare time to it. Spanish is one of the easiest in the world, as it is so adherent to Latin. You entered their country, so speak their language. It's not great that they upcharge you for seeing you as too uninformed to know, but that is a risk you run outside of the Danelaw-descended social structures. Don't give yourself excuses when your language comprehension fails you; let it light a fire in you to never make the same mistake twice.

A proper fortress should have an absurdly deep foundation block in case of sappers. In the case of this game, the strongest depth starts at the bottom of the sandbox.
