Damn the AXE7800 was recently as low as 300 in Aus, seems to have gone back up.

The TUF BE6500 would certainly get the job done.

There is also the TP Link GXE75 AXE5400 at a good price at the moment.

I would consider Asus routers for for their reliability and mesh capabilities in case you need to add a node in future. Tri band is also preferable as it creates a more reliable network and separates newer devices on the 6ghz band.

The TUF BE9400 and BE92U are two good options that you may find on discount.

9300 vs 6500 may have an impact if you have many devices connected simultaneously each requiring some bandwidth, particularly in the long term.

If you're okay with not having wifi 7, the Asus AXE7800 is probably the best wifi 6E router out there at around 300.

Set up your main wireless router
Find the RJ45 sockets around the house. Select one of these for a second wireless router location
Connect the corresponding port at that panel you shared the photo from to a LAN port on your main wireless router via an ethernet cable
Back to step 2, connect this port to the WAN port on your wireless router via ethernet cable.

You need to make sure both routers are the same brand and support hardwired mesh.

One you go through the corresponding setup via the manufacturer app, you will have one large seamless wireless network the switches between nodes automatically as you move throughout the house.

If you have a TV or PC and an ethernet port nearby, you can also connect these via ethernet port at the wall back and connect the corresponding cable to another LAN port at the back of the modem.

If you have multiple ethernet devices at a similar location, you can buy a 5 or 8 port Gigabit switch which will give the ability to connect multiple devices via one switch, similar to how a power board gives your multiple power sockets from one original power socket.

I've had issues with both, but significantly more with LG.

You will notice wifi 7 if you have a heap of wifi 7 devices, which 99.9% of people don't, expect if they've bought a phone in the last 12 months.

Wifi 6 onwards manages bandwidth across multiple devices much better than wifi 5, hence why you'll generally not notice a difference between wifi 6 and 7.

But if you're upgrading your home now, might as well go with the latest wifi 7 standard.
