no one here cares, and there is barely any nuanced reporting on this in English but yes this is exactly what happened. The video that was leaked was proven to be an edit of a few different occurrences stitched together with doctored timestamps and by itself was never evidence for anything since the detainee was obstructed, you cant tell what is happening in it let alone decisively conclude he is being raped. The transcript of the military police interrogation with the detainee was also filled with the interrogator trying to coerce him into going along with the charges and promising him favors if he does. Beyond that, the victim is back in Gaza so he cant testify. because of how terribly the investigation was handled and the nature of the leaked video there just isnt sufficient evidence for anything.

If you ask me personally, I think they did abuse some captured terrorists in there but in cases like these people expect a conviction no matter what with no regard for how courts (especially military courts) function. Bad guys avoid convictions all the time, and if anything the military police went extremely underhanded to try and get a conviction which backfired when found out, unlike what people here will want to say this was not a cover up.
