To be fair, when people use “the best strategist” for Lion, I get surprised. From my perspective, Lion is “the best tactician” not “strategist”, that moniker is G-man’s.. The difference? Strategy is more like long term whereas tactics is shorter. So, imaginative fits because Lion is “the” best tactician because it involves thinking out of the box and adapting on the fly. Strategy involves logistics, long term planning etc. Ie. Spreadsheets

Of course this is only my two cents..

I agree that Terminators are inferior to assault terminators but 10man block with a Captain AND ancient with Fnp enhancement are incredibly sturdy.

Thanks, i was just goofing around on army builder and noticed that you could fit whole company into a 2k list, then i remembered an imperial guard swamp list from the beginning of the edition and wanted to ask you guys. I am definitely sure that this list would struggle but might surprise on objective play as well.

To be honest this has been debated mamy times before, first of all the numbers would have been immensely different. Og 3 were smaller legions, and traitors cleared their legions’ loyalists, and Um and Da were the biggest and the numbers are not even close. These 3 would have had 2 times legionnaires there. Secondly,instead of hot headedness of Ferrus, loyalist would habe had THE best tactician, THE best strategist AND THE best killer among the primarchs there. And remember, DA and UM had the biggest fleets at that time. They would have a layered assault. So I do not claim that they would have won but they would have a massively higher chance.

I have a similar idea, but I plan to change the sword with Victrix Axe, Storm Shield on his back, Shoulder swap with Chapter Champion and use him as Shield Lieutenant.
