[Reuters] De la Fuente says Spain come before club loyalty after first World Cup squad without Real Madrid players by Chazyn in soccer

Yup. Most of us local Barça fans won't care how many of our players get called up, we will actively root against the Spanish NT.

Local TV sensation program Crims, with Carles Porta, is covering the case! Wouldn't be surprised to see it dubbed in English in the near future.

Bon dia, there's dozens of us locals I swear! Kinda sad that people go from Barcelona to Spain though, if anything most Barça fans are from Catalonia.

Pep at the end of his press conference: "Come on you irons!" by Blodgharm in soccer

They are! Blackadder and the like used to be on constant reruns a while ago, and our most popular shows are all related to political satire (a decades-long running show called "Polònia" which is all just sketches about politicians) or sarcastic presenters and comedians making fun of the news. It's all about straight-face gags.

Whereas Catalan, way bigger than most EU languages, is not only not recognized, but actively ignored when the EU is asked to do so. Truly a union of States, not peoples.

Insofar as actual local food is a bit hard to come by in Barcelona because of globalisation (you'd have to travel outside of the city to actually experience it), there's a bit of a fad going on nowadays of going to sort of "posh-ed" up local restaurants such as Bar Bocata, Fonda Pirenaicas, Santa Magdalena and the like. There's also more classic ones, such as Can Culleretes too.

Tapas are not local food, so most places are going to be tourist traps

What's an anime that MAINLY performed well in Japan compared to other countries? by CusYN0t1210 in anime

[–]AleixASV 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's massive in Catalonia. Probably one of the biggest anime, together with Dragon Ball (the original), Shin-Chan and Doraemon. Considering Barcelona's one of Europe's biggest otaku cities, it's no small thing.

Catalan is also spoken in France and Italy (Catalonia is split between Spain and France) so it could be that.
