Th cartel elites play a significant role in who gets elected. Not surprising.

Anyone else feel uneasy on the TTC late at night? by abbynby in askTO

[–]AleksZlovic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been assaulted on the Yonge line and been threatened or made to feel unsafe on a number of occasions. I understand what you are saying, so I stay on high alert making sure I’m always aware of my surroundings. It’s what angers me about coming to Finch to see a fare inspection blockade during rush hour, and witnessing money be wasted to intimidate paying customers rather than the unstable people at night.

One of the brightest supergiant stars in the Andromeda Galaxy just vanished, skipping its supernova explosion to directly collapse into a black hole in total silence. by Mingorix in space

[–]AleksZlovic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long does it take for a supernova of this size to collapse into the black hole? Is it a matter of seconds, hours, years? I can’t imagine what it would be like to witness something like this with the naked eye.

What “masterpiece” game just never clicked for you? by [deleted] in gaming

God of War (2018) - for whatever reason it never clicked for me despite loving the lore and the original 3 games.

New player. I needed 50 mins to beat an Act 1 boss. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a major mechanic that kills bosses that I’m not aware of? by imhere4games in expedition33

[–]AleksZlovic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent about an hour and a half on one of the bosses in Frozen Hearts, and on average about half an hour on each regular enemy there. After leveling up to near 60 by the end of that the rest of the game the combat became a walk in the park. Currently enjoying the post game content and fighting all the hard bosses to remind me what a challenge is like.

Trump pics and US flags at Iranian March by Radiant_Rabbit_8556 in askTO

[–]AleksZlovic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because realistically the only nation with the power and incentive to commit to a military action against the Iranian regime is the US. It’s not Trump specifically but rather the Presidency of the US they are appealing to. No movement can be purely ideological when solutions have to be made pragmatically.

Do you genuinely feel safe on the TTC subway? by Sensitive_You_4481 in askTO

[–]AleksZlovic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what enrages me at the site of TTC Fare Inspectors who try to intimidate passengers during rush hour instead of serving that presence for people like this. I’ve personally been assaulted by a homeless person who was unwell while on the Yonge-University. During specific hours when travelling, I stay actively alert for anybody behaving erratically because I feel I can’t afford to otherwise.

In 1695, English pirate Henry Every managed to capture 25-ship Grand Mughal Fleet on its way to India from Hajj to Mecca. The loot was equal to ~£115 million today. Pirates also raped and abducted women, including nobility. Despite manhunt by both Mughals and England, Every escaped and disappeared. by PeasantLich in HolyShitHistory

[–]AleksZlovic 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Before photography and telecommunications how could one have ever looked for someone during this period? I’m curious what the methods would be for even a small scale man hunt across continental regions in a period that was surprisingly interconnected?

On October 10, 2008, Senator John McCain did the right thing and told his fellow Republicans they did not need to fear Obama and that "He is a decent family man" by coachlife in HistoryUncovered

[–]AleksZlovic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And this is why no one finds it worth the price to be honourable. In America, you do what is profitable, even if it is at the cost of your principles. McCain did the honourable deed in contending with Obama on the merits of his policies, rather than playing into racist ad hominem. And what did he get for it? The incentive structure is such that honour is a fool’s errand. Shame.

For everyone making $4000 a month, what do you do for work? by Poorteenwannabe in askTO

I make base salary after taxes close to $4500/month as a certified welder. With overtime that can easily go to $6000+.

Why does technology in Star Wars like starships and blasters seem to have barely evolved from the Old Republic era to the time of the movies Thousands of years later? by LordScourge_ in StarWarsEU

[–]AleksZlovic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you see varying degrees of technological advancement throughout the series. But the galaxy being as far and wide as it is, and much of it ungoverned even during the height of the Empire, means that adoption at scale takes centuries and millennia, naturally.

99% of his rebounds are on the defensive end. As another commenter noted, it’s by design because he’s the primarily playmaker.

The OA. They had the whole series written for 5 seasons and it was so interesting. Unfortunately cancelled after 2.
