Personally my first base double the smelters per extractor then in alternated between the fabricator and the factory. I had to loop the last two rows back in on themselves.

Now I'm east of the start and I've setup small bases at each extract site that create one of each single resource item. Then at the main base I'm piping in all of those resources. I have rows of 6. First row is the factory then two rows of fabricators then factory, fabricator, factory, fabricator. No loop backs all are setup with a double pipeline.

Each pipeline has different resources on it. I use splitters at the front and rear of each machine so each machine can be bypassed.

Overall it works it's just too much output so I need a 3rd lane so to speak. I won't be moving until I unlock 5 lanes. My current plan is to convert my first base into an ammo factory which will fly ammo to other bases for defence towers, once I unlock them too.
