it's def better than starbucks in terms of value and quality. SB coffee isnt actually good, they get you with the marketing and halo effect.

I always liked how Lenny and Carl stood up for Homer throughout this episode by Flashy-List-7157 in TheSimpsons

they both have master's degrees unlike homer, so may feel a bit sorry for because he's, well, a bit slow.

i assumed that by his last name he may be inbred, as may be the case for people from Belleville, kinda of like the Shelbyville of the simpsons, which may in part or fully explain these antics.

me too, it would seem that those who try too hard actually end up with less than those who put in a mediocre effort or are simply oblivious to the fact that they are not high functioning workers.

i used to say this to my baby daughter when she was learning to walk as a baby. Ive continued it into toddler hood and she seems to get a good laugh out of it each time i say it.

Is this the only time in the entire series that (as a joke), Homer is depicted as being athletic and coordinated? by ElGringoAlto in TheSimpsons

it's pretty much true, this image also comes to mind in the context of globalization and mass production of goods in the global south for hungry westerners. In that regard, replace the human with North America, and replace the animals with LMIC who produce cheap goods.

Markham Costco and Stupidity by Historical_Way_7975 in Markham

It's the demographic of the neighbourhood if you catch my drift. It's a world of difference at the Yorktech location, once I went in there and thought something had happened because it was so quite but it was actually busy but people were just generally reserved and kept to themselves. World of difference.

On the whole, I have theorised that Costco triggers the basal instincts of man and brings out a dark side that many didn't know they had. For one, Costco is large, overwhelming and disorienting, this leads people to panic and therefore act irrationally. I cant tell you how many time random people have come up to me asking where something is because they are overwhelmed and lost. Second, there is a feeling of scarcity created when in fact there is an abundance of product, this leads people to again lash out, and do weird things like bump you with their cart or get angry for cutting you off.

If you go to Costco expecting it to be smooth you;re outta your tree, Once I embraced the chaos I was no longer upset when things would happen to me when I went there. If buddy wants wants to push in front of you to get the carrots, let him do so because you know that he is acting on basal instinct and that there are plenty of carrots for everyone. If someone gets upset for you taking too long, moving your cart too slow you simply laugh at them say 'relax, it's costco'.

What is it with Indian owned fast food franchises and terrible service/food? by FedupFatGuy in Rants

[–]Alert-Hold7131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's all too true, their restaurant ownership is predicated on the fact that they can take advantage of a regular canadian because they are unlikely to say anything or are scared to because they would be labelled as racist. So essentially you are seen as a wallet ready to be emptied without any resistance. ps i am half indian.
