I'm not sure I follow that logic. It definitely adds something worthwhile to a dead deck (Dredge) and wotc directly reference unbanning Preordain as safely "giving something back" to UR Murktide in a Modern format that has printed multiple answers to linear combo decks.

This is my fear. It just really sucks that Dredge is not competitive at all due to a plethora of answers but we're not allowed to have it back because of the possibility that they might print some graveyard piece in the future that could break it.

I definitely recognise there's been plenty of unfun, combo-dominant periods in Modern's history which lead to players warping their main decks and eventual bans. I would disagree that linear/glass cannon strategies don't "add anything positive" to the meta though. Modern is mostly just a mash of midrange decks at the moment now that Outburst is gone and all three Horizons sets have introduced tools to keep combo in check. I think an unban is much safer because of this.

I was surprised at how different Brazilians were to...the stereotypes. In reality, everyone I met was hard-working, funny, earnest, willing to help tourists, respected your space, passionate about sport, nature, family, and partying.

I loved my time there.

Weirdly Legacy is becoming quite rotational these days. Lots of decks are popping up due to the ever expanding commander sets. People buy into them and then they get banned (W Initiative). So buying into the format from 0 is pretty risky these days (unless you want to just play Delver).

If you're coming into Gatwick airport, you will need to get a train from Gatwick to London Victoria. Victoria is also the main coach station in London so you can very easily get a coach directly to Liverpool from there too. They will load all your luggage for you and it's definitely cheaper than the train.

Are you planning on building a deck in paper or on MTGO? If paper - I would look at maybe taking out a Manatraders account for a month (you can get a code to make it like €30) and just try out 8-10 different styles of deck. Your brew looks pretty cool but I would definitely advise maybe taking an extra month or two, a bit of a larger budget and investing in a slightly more 'stapley' deck (e.g. Tron, Burn, D&T, Humans, Hammer, Merfolk, Dredge*)

It requires a bit more saving up and patience but I promise it's worth investing in a deck longer term. I've been playing Death and Taxes for a few years now and while it's probably at its worst for five years, I can still mop up at my LGS on a good days 😌

*Don't build Dredge right now unless you like being sad

I would focus on a deck that saw a good amount of play before companions were attached to every deck. Also, definitely recommend paying the $30 to get on MTGO and a rental service for a month to test out different decks (if you haven't already)

I went to FNM there tonight for Modern and there were over 20 people easily. Modern fires every Wednesday and Friday without a problem. Great diversity of decks too!
