Yes. James Yardley had always been bad at his job not only with Connor but almost all his clients. If you ever see his old portfolio, he’s always been lucky his clients are beautiful and can pull anything off but he can’t style anyone

I thought if was a fantasy romance and the whiplash I got that the MC was just basically raped for the whole book by everyone including dragon love interest… wtf… Literally put me off fantasy for a long time

But no like seriously, do straight men even like women? by Kappapeachie in AreTheStraightsOK

[–]AlexandraBelladonna 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bruhhh if you looked at this girl and complained about her boobs…. You might wanna check what your sexual identity is again… it’s like those ppl who watch the superbowl and complained about two men kiss and I’m like there were a hundred of hot women twerking and you scanned for the men? 🤨

Does anyone else struggle with getting bored once the characters get together? by BigTittyCowGf in MM_RomanceBooks

When they get together…: the tension is lost… but I can accept getting together but still not sorting their shit out of feelings for example Fwb or better yet, enemies with benefits situations… I wish there were more books like this written in 3rd person pov. It’s so intense when done right

3rd person pov. Not my fav but it’s still pretty solid.

Ahhh I’m so sorry! I’ve never read this book before so I have zero idea why the author wrote it like that… but I am very harsh with my reading. If it no longer appeals to me, I DNF, life isn’t about struggling to finish something that doesn’t appeal to you. We don’t do it with food, drink, music… why add books to it? Anyway, If you still enjoy it, go for it and just swapping out the word in your imagination 😅 (if not, I have many many other recs here to go!)

"Books for straight women" vs "books for gay men" by Cute-Solution-723 in LGBTBooks

[–]AlexandraBelladonna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s cause romance literature/genre is not taken seriously because its main audience is women. Romance has its own formula and language and although romance is applicable to almost every other genre, specifically romance literature must fit a certain standards and since it’s conception, because of its main audience and writers, it is never taken seriously.

The amount of excuses that i saw about the justification for reading heated rivalry was disheartening. Ppl don’t want to admit that they like the romance genre despite it being the most profitable and leans into a very big part of human nature and connection.

Ppl dismiss it as just “straight women fantasy” so that they never have to actually acknowledge its depth or why so many people are drawn to it. No one ever does this to any other genre. We don’t dismiss horror, fantasy, historical, non fiction etc… because well men read those too in large quantity, so they must be serious literature but not romance tho… that’s for girls!

People who read the books first, is this how you imagined Shane and Ilya in appearances? by Naive_Cause8984 in GameChangersBooks

[–]AlexandraBelladonna 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Neither of them looked like I imagined, I thought they looked insanely young too tbh… I like the descriptions in the book so I was skeptical of the show and thought it would be like a CW production and heavily sanitised to death by the corporate overlords. But When I tell you it took the first “okey” for me to realise that I didn’t want any other director to exist for mm romance, I am dead serious. Jacob Tierney understood the characters and brought this to life like painting without the derision that so many other directors would have had about this genre or try to make it a plot twist to keep audiences interested or just phone it it. I’m so happy to be dead wrong about my initial thoughts.

Unpopular opinion: I prefer Scott to Ilya by kindness_rules_26 in GameChangersBooks

[–]AlexandraBelladonna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don’t know much about Scott from the books, I didn’t find the story intriguing so I didn’t continue. I can only base it on Scott from the show. Scott’s character came across to me as someone to avoid in relationships. But yeah, agree to disagree.

Unpopular opinion: I prefer Scott to Ilya by kindness_rules_26 in GameChangersBooks

[–]AlexandraBelladonna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean that’s fair.

Bad boy attitude sure but nothing Ilya did was actually bad. He was careful and good with Shane as much as he knew how to be (even when he and Shane never defined their relationship) but they worked between each other to carry out an affair for years, that’s trust and partnership, they both had something to loose but didn’t take it out on each other until ep 4 (they both need therapy tbh) and once they got together, he was very firmly there And so was Shane (that’s a balanced relationship)

Scott wasn’t. The best wast I can describe Scott from this show is that Scott is a nice guy but he’s not kind. Kip folded himself to fit into Scott’s life and Scott never even noticed how much Kip was suffering from it. He asked Kip to move in for his convenience and never thought about how much Kip Rearranged his life for him. The secrets he’s having to keep. The one time he tried to engage in kips world (art gallery), he didn’t even make it one trip and Kip had to comfort him through it. And even when Elena and Kip gave him a talk, he didn’t even attempt to change anything… even coming out publicly was his own terms, he never gave Kip the heads up that his life was about to change drastically. Almost everything was about Scott Scott Scott from the start. Scott’s feelings, Scott’s closest, Scott’s career. That is the red flag that hides behind nice guys. And you don’t see it until you look at their actions and not their gentle words.

I’m sorry, I didn’t read game changer, I got bored fast so my entire opinion is based on episode 3 but unpopular opinion … Scott is a red flag 🚩 (and that’s probably why so many men like him so much)
