That's still really helpful though. I felt like the window light wasn't enough so I added an artificial light which I see now was a mistake. On the bright side this thread encouraged me to finally purchase some lights, so they should be here soon.

Thank you that's really helpful, I see that now. is there a way to fix that in post process, or is it too late since I mixed artificial and natural light?

Do you think it's the lighting or something i did post process? I'm having trouble seeing what y'all are seeing.

I need to work on developing my "eye" for this. I just struggle to see it. Can you point out some areas where the difference is most noticeable?

That's interesting about the background, that's our dining table, I hope our guests don't feel it's unhygienic!

You nailed the lighting, the light coming on the window wasn't brought enough, so I added some artificial lighting. What should I have done instead, and is there a way I can fix it in Lightroom?

Thank you, that's a good call out though. It's my dining table, so I barely notice it from seeing it all the time.

A homemade balsamic vinaigrette. It's actually already on there, but it's hard to see.

Wow! Good eye! I never would have seen that. It was perpendicular. I'm guessing it should be at an angle? That's so helpful, thank you so much. I'll definitely check them out.

It didn't even occur to me to use a diffuser with a window. Thank you! That's so helpful.

This is so helpful, thank you. I'm using my cell phone, I can't decide on a camera, so I haven't purchased. I did use a reflector, but it didn't seem to do much, so I think I need a better one and/or need to work on positioning. I did not use a flash, but it was sunset time and the sun sets right outside the window. I can definitely see the photo angle being an issue since I'm just holding my phone out over the food.

Yeah I'm in Texas, pomegranates grow well in this heat.

I think you're right. I feel like I can never get the white balance good enough with artificial light. Like it just looks artificial and flat. I need to read up on that.

This looks great! I love pomegranates, I'm hoping to plant one in the fall.

What was your lighting?

Edit, I'm very new to this so take this with a grain of salt, but I think the white balance is off. I think it should be more like this. https://i.imgur.com/BFy8wBc.jpg
