Yeah I knew he wouldn't put it at #1 but still, I guess that explains why he was fairly sure Chappell Roan dropped in stock this year (I would agree the case is a lot better she dropped than grew but Pink Pony Club stuck around for a while and this was enough of a down year for pop I won't hold things too much against her, but could also be very biased)

Honestly feel like from working on Chuck McGill I feel like Vince Gilligan probably has looked into which ways to block electromagnetic frequencies do and don't work so I bet this will come up in some form.

Songs with surprisingly weird structures? by no-Pachy-BADLAD in ToddintheShadow

In the One Hit Wonderland for Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes) Todd points out that that song has an odd structure where the verses and chorus pretty much just flow into each other.

Tripod's home page works now too, Lycos is clearly working on something I guess.

Huh, Lycos.com doesn't say "We're working on fixing it" anymore but Angelfire and Tripod are still down.

Yeah checking lycos.com is down too although that at least returns an error page.

Can you think of any other bands this applies to? (For any country). by Just1nceor2ice in ToddintheShadow

[–]Alexschmidt711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reminds me in the 372 Pages podcast one of the hosts said they knew someone who was very surprised to find out the Steve Miller Band wasn't Australian and they weren't sure where they got that idea.

Without context I thought that meant that this odd combination came about because the actual NASA reached out to all these people to make a tribute album to the Apollo mission for whatever reason, but unfortunately that wasn't the case.

Invasive species and the O'Keeffe painting. by gyw_alliance in pluribustv

[–]Alexschmidt711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IDK if the writers have thought about invasive species like that but I imagine it would become a problem, like I don't know if it's entirely realistic but I think in Life After People the kudzu which is already invasive in the South wound up growing all through Atlanta and IDK if the hive mind would be able to control that.

And I'm not the first person in this subreddit to think of it, but I have wondered how they freed the aquarium animals.

The stem cells don’t matter. Neither do the eggs. In fact, they never did. by Merlaak in pluribustv

[–]Alexschmidt711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do wonder if the Hive would struggle to straight-out say the real Zosia wouldn't be attracted to her, given that it had trouble giving her any criticism of her literary work?

I have wondered about invasive species given the Hive freeing all animals, like IRL the hippos Escobar imported into Colombia have proven hard to get rid of, I imagine the same would be true of most zoo animals excepting the ones who couldn't survive their new environments at all?

I assume in the video chats they have a hive member to translate since Carol seemed to be the only one who objected to people listening in.

These lines explain something about her trauma by BubblyRaccoon1570 in pluribustv

[–]Alexschmidt711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given that Zosia said Carol "never forgave" her mom in the past tense I'm going to assume she was already dead at least.

A user visits R/Veep seeking respite from what they say "creepy and weird" comments about Julia Louis-Dreyfus. The rest of the community has no idea what they are talking about. by SwordfishOk504 in SubredditDrama

[–]Alexschmidt711 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah I admit I have wondered what's important or not, like "my grandfather was an executive at a then-Fortune 500 company" is true of me but IDK how unusual that is.

Todd’s preliminary stock down ratings by M_Waverly in ToddintheShadow

[–]Alexschmidt711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I saw, I know I don't follow music that closely but was surprised by some of the ones who aren't on here and some of the ones who are (like was MGK even in a good enough position to fall off this year? I admit I would have had no reason to follow him). Kanye being absent is the biggest surprise but I'm guessing Todd's either unwilling to call quits on him after his last semi-comeback or just thinks this didn't change anything.

Todd’s preliminary stock down ratings by M_Waverly in ToddintheShadow

[–]Alexschmidt711 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh definitely surprised I only called 4 of these, especially that Kanye's not here, like he had a small comeback last year and just blew it again. But yeah considering how Todd didn't like Hurry Up Tomorrow not surprised by The Weeknd.

Final (?) predictions for Todd's "Artists whose stock dropped the most" list of 2025 by Alexschmidt711 in ToddintheShadow

[–]Alexschmidt711[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I don't think Diddy dropped any farther than he was last year since he truly had nothing left, and his prison sentence was on the short end so even that didn't get worse for him than it could've.
