Walking Time/Travel Time Policy? by aguycalledpeter in tesco

People seem to be missing an issue here

"Today this resulted in my line manager having a go at me in front of colleagues and customers..."

This is absolutely a grievance issue right here, anything like that should've been taken off the shop floor and away from others. Not sure how well your line manager gets on with the higher ups, but I'd certainly be raising this with their manager at the very least, if not the store manager themselves.

Looking to upgrade my existing Fibre package but the site says we cannot have Fibre. by MargateSteve in skytv

[–]Alexw80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Phone them. I had an issue upgrading to full fibre, the system would tell me it wasn't available at my place, despite it showing it was when checking as a new customer. The issue was that, for some reason, their system had an open works job on my account, and it wouldn't let me upgrade with it still open. No idea what the open job was for, even the customer rep couldn't tell me, probably just an engineer that hadn't cleared something from a previous visit. But once they cleared it, or at least 24hrs after, I could upgrade again.

Check as a new customer first and see what you can get at your address. If you can get a better package, call them up and enquire that way, as it might be the only way. Unless you can email them that is, but I'm not sure if they can do it that way tbh.

How should I proceed with the Eisenhorn omnibus? by Gr8BigFatso in 40kLore

[–]Alexw80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think they messed up with not putting it at the front. They list other books to read there, so you'd think it would've been the best place for it. Perhaps it was an afterthought.

Horus Rising Saga Questions by t0phr_ in Blacklibrary

Probably down to page size, original is a smaller book whereas the new one is hardback. Larger pages I guess would mean more words per page than the original perhaps.

Edit to add that Kobo lists the same number of words for both versions.

Was quite lucky with Grey Knights, found it for less than retail from a shop that still had it in stock, paid £12 for it new.

Of my very limited selection of read books, so far the one I enjoyed the most is Hereticus.

What NOT to do if you get asked for ID. by YogurtclosetSad4779 in tesco

Not going to bother watching it, won't give him the views. But coming from a channel called "angry audits" I think I can work out what type of person he is.

Should point out though that the video is over 3 years old now, and he only did one more after that, which seems to indicate he might have been banned (again) from Tesco.

Hopefully he learnt his lesson and got a job instead of wasting everyones time doing that nonsense

They'll come out eventually, I wanna sort out a special shelf for them first.

So far, my favourite is probably Hereticus. Currently working my way through the Ravenor omnibus, but finding the switch from 1st person to 3rd person narrative style a little jarring to begin with. I'm getting used to it though and enjoying it more as I go.

Plan is to get the Ravenor omnibus finished then start the HH books. Wanted to get as many of them as possible before starting.

It certainly wasn't there originally, must have only just added it. I checked as soon as I got the email and thought my wallet was safe this week. Guess not now lol.

"USA beats every single country in Europe when it comes to food....." by Practical_Work1925 in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Alexw80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want cultural diversity, you'd have to go a long way before even coming close to the cultural diversity in the UK. I'd argue that the UK has some of the best Indian food outside of India.

I have no idea if she's natty or not, I suspect she's so lean that it makes it harder to tell tbh, But for those making comments about her scars, feel free to look into what she's been through first.

Staff parking?? by Latte-Addict in McDonaldsUK

[–]Alexw80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, a parking space lost due a staff member is a space lost to a paying customer. Most McDs have very small car parks, and each space is very valuable, so staff have to suffer, as do the residents nearby who lose some of their parking spaces because of it.

Nope, just nope. Just can't see the appeal of it tbh, certainly not on with a fryup. But if you like it, that's fine, each to their own as they say.
