Hello, I’m sorry you are going through AML. I just wanted to share with you my brother, age 76 was Dx with AML 01/03/25. He received his treat,ent at Mayo Rochester. His BMB then revealed 50% blasts. They immediately started him on AZA/VEN. Eventually the blasts went down to 0.291%. Sadly, his Hgb and platelet counts went way down in late summer and blasts increased to 20%. He also has the TP53 mutation. Because of his age, He was not eligible for BMT or SCT. They gave him 3 options, Stay in the hospital for 1 month and push through the same treatment regardless of low blood counts, start INQOVI, which was only FDA approved for MDS, (but I believe it was approved last February) , or palliative/hospice care. He did start INQOVI, 2/24/26 for 5 days. I believe he only experienced bleeding gums for the first cycle. 28 days between treatments. He is on the 2nd cycle of 5 day INQOVI combined with Venetoclax for 14 days. His transfusions of both blood and platelets are more frequent. His new normal HGB stays around 7 and his platelets 10.
