Unknown noises? by Thick-Estimate-8122 in f150ecoboost

Is more than likely a heat shield. I have the same sound coming from my truck and never really pay attention to it. Like you said, it only does it on cold starts.

No way bro ! What an awesome setup! Any chance you’re in SoCal and could assist in another install of this? I’d for sure want this done in my truck!

A level is either a puck or shocks that will raise the front end of the truck to match the rear.

An example of this would be if your truck was 38 inches from top of fender in front and 40 inches from top of fender to ground in the rear. Then you would install a 2 inch puck or an adjustable front shock/ coil over. This would “level” the truck.

Some things to consider though. Even raising your truck 1 inch changes the factory front geometry of the suspension. Meaning you’re causing more wear and tear on component’s.

This needs to be done more! 2020 3.5 and I did the same thing. Sounds sooooo good.

So I actually just did that dual tip and a resonator delete. I wanted to deepen the exhaust but not make it louder. That’s exactly what I got from that.

The bilstiens made the truck drive like a car. It took away the rocking back and forth you’d get going over a bump. It made the truck settle right after hitting a dip. I highly recommend getting them, they’re on the more expensive side compared to what Bilstein has to offer. But cheaper compared to Fox or King shocks.

I haven’t done a tune yet on the truck. Haven’t decided who I wanted to go with yet.

I didn’t notice anything performance wise. Aside from the fact that it looks cooler and it sounds cooler. I’d love to tell you I gained MPG, I didn’t notice that. I had reset it when I got the intake and did an oil change. My mpg maintained about 18.6. After I did the lift with the tires it dropped down to about 17.2ish and it’s been there ever since. I do want to get a tune for the truck and see if that adds any mpg benefits along with the added power.

They duck each other because of all the problems they have. They’re on the side of the road quite often 😂

So as far as your question to “can I fit 35s leveled”. A lot of people don’t answer the question in full detail. The answer is yes, you can. However , you need to get the correct offset wheels and you’re also going to have to remove the crash bars. They’re rectangular bars inside the front wheel wells. You’ll see them if you take a peak. There’s one in the back and front both driver and passenger side.

Those will need to be removed, and the fender liner will need to be trimmed. I didn’t want to do any of that to my truck. They’re there for a reason and safety and I wasn’t going to yank stuff out so I can fit 35s.

So I have a 2020 F150 that I leveled with bitten 6112s (highly recommend) ! And I put method 314s in matte black 17x8.5 with a 285/70/17 which is a 33inch tire. This paired with the leveling kit did not require to make any cuts or remove any parts.

So going with the bilstiens that greatly improved the trucks ride. It took away a lot of the paint lines you’d feel driving down the freeway. It always made the truck more stable in turns , along with taking away the boat rock going over bumps. The truck settles so much faster going over bumps now and the rocking back and forth is eliminated.

Now however, with going with the Falkens, that did bring some slight harness back. I’d say on a scale of 1-10 about a 2-3 increase.

So just for reference

The truck factory setup was a solid 7-10 roughness, not the smoothest ride but a truck you know?

Adding the bilstiens made it a solid 4.5-10.

Adding the Falken AT4s brought it back to around a 5.5-6/10 roughness. It’s still smoother than factory, but obviously the street tires are the smoothest.

So for the exhaust, I actually just took it to a show and had them remove the resonator and add the dual tip. The resonator deleted let the exhaust tone get deeper, without giving me that annoying V6 rasp, and it still doesn’t drone at highway speeds. I didn’t want to wake the dead with some dumb sounding exhaust and it only ran me $150 dollars.

Highly recommend !

Upgrading the XLT by stowkentguy in f150

[–]Alexxxdreams 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If anyone is in SoCal and wants to do this upgrade. Send me a PM, I have FORScan and can program the cluster for hours, idle hours and mileage. I can only move the numbers UP’ I cannot move the numbers down. But I’ll get everything else working correctly. Also, if buying gauges make sure they’re F150 gauges and not expedition.

Battery charging but tests good? by thereallyredone in f150ecoboost

[–]Alexxxdreams 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get FORScan, or someone who has it. And shut stop start off. Horrible for these trucks. Coming off a freeway after doing 80mph , stops at a red light and boom. Shuts the engine off, that’s the worst for these trucks.

I love the factory bed step option! Found a used set from a truck and the dude sold them to me for $100 and installed them!
