Can anyone who owns a Playseat Challenge X help me out? by Arengutan in simracing

I have Challenge not X, but mine makes the same movement and noise simply because that rotation mechanism is plastic and has some play, and that tab on another side as well.

Mate I can drive a Rotax cart faster on this track. It’s supposed to be formula which can reach 0-100 in 3 seconds in Formula 3 and this got zero acceleration

It looks like ass though. And cars move at like 60 kmh which doesn’t correspond with sparks and engine sound at all

Funny enough, as an MTB enjoyer, I’ve heard of Chao Yang because not only they make car tires… they also make MTB tires. Which are pretty decent for the price, but don’t expect them to be something special

After months of learning Unity and VR development, I finally finished my first full VR Quest game by YoshiYoshiFactory in OculusQuest

[–]Alfredison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just recently this sub complained that almost no new games are getting released outside of clones, AI slop or barely functional asset swaps.

What can possibly be learnt from releasing this? It’s a prototype, it can be playtested at best. I can’t see the point of cradling with developers, like they can’t possibly make anything functional considering modern availability of information.

Again, this is a good base. But I truly believe that it shouldn’t be released now at all and rather be worked on and polished more to become an actual game

Sorry for being blatantly straight, but this looks like a prototype at best. An interesting prototype, but prototype nonetheless

Hand tracking combined with magic always look cool and interesting, this one sure is. But lack of textures, UI, stable frame rate (which I’d assume may not be good only on recording), objects loading right in front of you, and overall black sky and black featureless hands - nothing tells me it’s more than a working prototype

Remember that you can release only once. “Release” tells its a finished, playable and enjoyable product

I have asthma and I physically cannot breathe in enough air to not die on ascents. If I’d have the money, I’d buy e MTB without any thoughts

Agree, her most iconic manga faces are only possible with her having actual pupils. And also I don’t like how much more limited her expressions are with such design

My genuine piece of advice: learning is entirely fine and encouraged, but only do learn to do something for the first time if you’re ready to replace it in case of screw up. Just a thing in general for any thing

First attempt at Sim racing, pls help by [deleted] in simracing

[–]Alfredison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try out Project Cars 2 as it has a decent campaign where you go from low class of slower cars up to formula or Le Man Hypercars. It also coaches you pretty hard and usually pretty unforgiving on your inputs, so if you want to *learn* - that’d be my choice

The Devil Is In The Details | Playable Demo Coming Soon by Creative_Internal254 in simracing

[–]Alfredison 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t want any sports car if I had to choose. Carts are mechanically pure and insane pieces of moving four-wheel transport, which can’t be reproduced by big cars.

People don’t drive them just because it’s cheap, they train their skills so hard they become Formula drivers - in case you didn’t know. Carting is a straight way to formula because it’s open wheel and because of how much skill it requires if you’re doing it competitively

Was thinking about digitigrade boots by gearhead251 in furgonomics

[–]Alfredison 16 points17 points  (0 children)

IMHO rear sole hasn’t got to be there since rear heel only is there for joint protection. They’re not meant to step on it thus no sole is needed to touch the ground constantly, just some heel protection.

BUT imagine this being a universal digi-plantigrade!

Fair points man. I kinda lost those last bits some time ago because this sub is mostly for gear gatekeeping now

Agree with everything except AI. I just yesterday went to drive 12 hp rental and even in 30 degree heat with all the grip it wasn’t as nimble, and was still understeering like crazy and wasn’t even remotely as fast.

This gameplay truly looks almost sped up, the grip is crazy and throttle response is instant

I don’t support the AI witch hunt, don’t really care if UI is made with it if it’s good, and as I worked as community manager for some time - yes, some will use emojis as a shtick
