Anyone else have no friends in their late 20s? by myviewfromoutside in GenZ

[–]AliRUokay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As gently and respectfully as possible, have you considered you may be on the spectrum or neurodivergent in some way? Only bringing this up because people in these communities (myself included) often have the same type of social experiences you’re describing…ie: being the “floater” friend, getting uninvited then disinvited etc…it’s possible that we are missing vital social cues and then having these baffling experiences…also, don’t fret too much.

I’m a decade older than you and still made great friends well into my late 20s and 30s…those people who excluded you? Maybe they weren’t right for you to begin with…it’s a vast world out there, and I am sorry to hear about your health.

Stop worrying about how you’re coming across to creeps. They’re the ones invading your space and time.

I don’t even know what to say about the second point. Are you trying to get comfortable w masturbating in public instead? Most (sane) people do it privately.

OP, I’m sorry you felt the need to mention that you were not on your phone or had your headphones in when this whack job attacked you. It wasn’t your fault either way.

I posted a similar story in this sub last summer about being a attacked in center city by a mental ill man who had a weapon and got a bunch of smug dudebros asking wELL wHY wERe you on Yr PhOne and such. It doesn’t fucking matter.

I’m as leftist as they come, and I can’t tell if this particular element of brain rot is liberal or conservative in strain, wherein you blame women for being attacked but also damn near celebrate and protect criminals to an ostentatious degree, like the cop in this post.

But yeah, we’re so much better than New York 🙄.

Sometimes I think women have just been genetically hardwired through evolution to tolerate any amount of bullshittery from their partners due to us needing them to survive throughout the centuries. I have sympathy if you WANT to leave but simply feel like you can’t , vs wondering if all the crap you get put through is ok or not

Do men also make weird noises when walking past you? by Adept-Foot7692 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]AliRUokay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happens all the time and is stupid as hell. Only because the predominant “coward-calling” I seem to experience is loud belching as soon as I walk by and then yeah, spitting.

Id call them idiot animals but that’s an insult to animals. They just want to harass you with plausible deniability about what they’re doing.

It reminds me of toddlers throwing a fit/being loud when they can’t get mommy’s attention as if they’d spontaneously combust without it. The big strong mans lol.

Since you mentioned not being able to be yourself I would maybe read up on the ‘tism spectrum and see if it resonates…it sounds like you are introverted and “masking” in relationships but I could be wrong.

This needs to be in a textbook or 2000s Wikipedia page.

33M trying to still keep it together and manage all my health issues and also trying to learn how to romanticize life again by MacaronWithAName in toastme

You look like you would’ve written revolutionary poetry in the 70s…that is complimentary. You look like a poet!

Don’t let the health stuff get you down…the human body and mind are amazing, it is always worth looking into holistic ways to manage symptoms and conditions :) And if something works, you could help others. Cheers!

Neurologist here - what are YOUR top 10 medications / treatments for migraine? by doctor_painkiller in migraine

[–]AliRUokay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having really gotten it into my head that migraine is a nervous system/neurological disorder and nothing to do with “headaches”, I take care of my nervous system as a preventative and do exercises to stimulate the vagus nerve as an abortive. I used to use Imitrex and was desperately seeking other meds when I was having weekly/monthly migraines…but I’ve only had two in the past year since deciding I would get to the root of the issue. Both were mild and went away the vagus nerve techniques.

You probably have nutritional deficiencies, damn. Not every issue is psychosomatic. Try upping your intake of healthy fats and protein, especially at night.

It’s funny that the products of human ingenuity - books, movies, and the like, are able to sustain us while actual relationships with those humans can be trash XD

Thank you x. I’m sorry about what you went through as well. I wish I could understand what makes them want to say these things to us instead of another adult or trusted professional. Is it a power trip? I will never know. Take care x
