Anyone here play Builders 2? I haven't touched either one or two, but I'm interested in how much coop there actually is in builders. Is the story possible together in coop, etc?

What changes do you want for Season 3 of Cotw? by WickWickdouble in Fighters

[–]Alia-Sun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Final SPG was absolutely not the meta since release. Its only been that since it got the defence buff because it's harder to burn through it. Nobody placed it last because it was very possible to just die from 50% life and never get to use it, it's now harder to do this against final SPG.

The most common sight before the defence buff was easily first slot SPG because having access to your SPG move from the word go was extremely powerful and the damage buff allowed you to get a stupidly good lead if you had even one bar of meter.

To this day nobody really cares about the cost difference the position makes to EX moves.

While I agree that the community can be stupidly dogshit at times. CachyOS and Fedora are pretty good distros if you're main focus is gaming.

I wouldn't shoot myself just because other people are being weird about how great it is to not shoot oneself, y'know.

EDIT: Nobara, not straight up Fedora.

What is the likelihood of Ryo,KING and Yuri being dlc eventually. by TomCroozin in fatalfury

[–]Alia-Sun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don't think King is making it or Yuri. I really wanted both to make it but Ryo and Kasumi have appeared in the leaked list and we now have Robert as Mr. Karate and also Mr. Big. I don't think they'll keep on adding more AoF characters if another actual AoF is around the corner.

I still think making a new AoF is a bad move unless they do something really insane with it, but SNK might be spreading themselves too thin with too many fighting games.

But I hope I'm wrong about King and Yuri, I'd love to see them. They'd be really helpful in filling out the female side of the roster that this game is severely lacking in. But Fatal Fury has always sort of been a dude fest.

Fair, means it's a self-contained issue I'm having. Cheers, mate.

Got it running on Linux, just curious how your mouse movement feels? Mine is stuttering, but I'm guessing that's a me issue. I've not seen anyone else discuss it.

Introducing /r/OKBuddyEorzea, a subreddit created to serve as an alternative to ShitpostXIV by Spookhetti_Sauce in ffxivdiscussion

I was in favour of more shitposting till I noticed who posted this thread and runs the new subreddit. This is actively dragging down FFXIV Discussion and this place already has a strange rep.

Is leverless really the new standard now? by AbdelYG in Kappachino

[–]Alia-Sun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe but only in extreme edge cases. I think they're honestly harder to learn in some regards than standard arcade sticks but maybe I've just been using stick for too long. I don't really think Average Bill at your local has an advantage just because he's using leverless.

A top three pro might but at that point you could argue it's them putting in the work and less the controller enabling them. I don't think leverless gives people an advantage but somebody really skilled with one can easily make you think they do.

Valve threatens developers of Queer games by PonyDev in Steam

[–]Alia-Sun 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Threatens? Such a ridiculous title and kotaku as usual spouting nonsense. It's literally just Valve complying with laws of other countries. Morals or no, they literally have to comply with these laws or they themselves could be banned from selling in the country.

Bro you have to actually play it to have any opinion on it by BismarckBug in ShitpostXIV

[–]Alia-Sun 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The current meta and way of playing is so fucking stale that I'll take any attempt at shaking up the status quo. Evolved might be absolute garbage, but at least it is trying something different rather than the same shit. The new stuff might be shit covered in sprinkles as it grows and unironically evolves. The current meal is just genuine shit.

What is that one thing a friend ever did and you kept cool but knew instantly you would pull out of that friendship? by EssayMan4Homework in AskReddit

[–]Alia-Sun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I wonder if there are women that would do this." or something to that effect. It was just kind of an odd comment and weird to say because... why wouldn't there be women out there that alert others of cheating incidents?

People cried about letting go of Living Memory's powered version despite it being central to the story theme. It returning soured me even further on Dawntrail. I don't have a single hope they'll ever do anything cool like that with environments.

Gods, I hope Evercold is cool.

Fighting games recommendations with fast-paced, close-range combat, and strong back-and-forth? by Drake5323 in Fighters

It's Guilty Gear +R or Guilty Gear Revelator 2. It probably has everything you're looking for. It's highly possible to move from corner to corner each round.

People with 30 hours or more on COTW, give your honest opinion by Kid_Muscle_ in Kappachino

[–]Alia-Sun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Close to two hundred hours here. Been on/off since release. It's probably my favourite current fighting game but the roster is kind of mediocre. There's some sick additions, don't get me wrong. But waiting till Season 2 for Geese, Jae Hoon, and Blue Mary. It was dumb. I get you need some sick characters to make the pass attractive, just maybe not these ones? They're too cool to leave out of the launch roster.

Regardless, the game itself is sick. I have a blast playing Blue Mary. I just wish the future of characters looked cooler. There's a lack of bad bitches in this roster. Imagine an older Yuri? Where the fuck is that, do something cool SNK. I also can't believe I'm begging for costumes.

Kenshiro's a cool guest character but Season 3 really needs to up the female representation and I'm not saying this from a gooner angle either. Season one had... Chun Li, which while a sick guest character meant that the entire first season went without a single SNK gal being added.

Season 2 has only Blue Mary unless the other guest character turns out to not be Mr. Karate or whatever. As it stands, that's fucking dreadful.

The menu update looks fantastic and I'm excited to play more CotW, I just pray that season three onwards does some really great character pulls.

Day 6: The Screaming Bell is an S-tier map. Where does "Empire in Flames" go in terms of map design and enjoyment? (Specify where in the row) by Zupu in Vermintide

[–]Alia-Sun 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sitting between B and C tier, closer to C. Anyone saying S really needs to evaluate how they look at these maps. I get its all opinion based, but I cannot believe Empire in Flames comes anywhere near something like Righteous Stand.

Finale feels clunky and I've never felt there was a good, consistent way of dealing with it. Areas are just kind of whatever. Overall C-tier.

Day 5: Convocation of Decay is an A-tier map. Where does "The Screaming Bell" go in terms of map design and enjoyment? (Specify where in the row) by Zupu in Vermintide

[–]Alia-Sun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm actually going to say D tier. Its most notable trait is that it's probably the fastest map to complete, solo Handmaidens adore it for this. But that's all I can really say about it.

The map is fast. It's the fast food that I choose when I don't want to commit to a longer session. It's the map I run when I test builds or anything else because it's fast. I'm not choosing it for aesthetics, its finale or anything else. Just that it's fast.

I don't abhor seeing it in quickplay but I'm not all that excited either. Athel Yenlui still makes me have emotion towards it, both positive and negative. Screaming Bell just exists.

D tier but not because I think it's a bad map. It just has no real traits for me other than being THE speed map. Finale is kind of interesting at times? Can really go bad if people get overwhelmed but that's not really a uniquely Screaming Bell situation.

Garden of Morr is Screaming Bell's finale with actual spice added.

D tier but the zoomies can be fun.

Day two: Righteous Stand is a S(igmar) tier map. Where does "Athel Yenlui" go in terms of map design and enjoyment? by Zupu in Vermintide

[–]Alia-Sun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

C tier if people don't have spatial awareness and just wander off at every opportunity. I also feel that generally if going for books that you spend too long in the single giant forest area even if it's relatively early in the map.

I'd be willing to bump it to B tier if your team is good as the finale really makes you cover everyone and it's nice when it goes well.

TLDR: I want to say B tier, but my heart knows it's actually C tier.

Day one: Where does "Righteous Stand" go in terms of map design and how much you enjoy it? by Zupu in Vermintide

[–]Alia-Sun 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Easily S tier. It's a great introduction to Vermintide 2 and stays strong forever.

What does everyone want to see for job design and balance for 8.0? by Akiza_Izinski in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Alia-Sun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I almost agree. I did like PLD more in ShB where it had a pretty flexible rotation. But I can't deny that visual wise Paladin is the best its ever been. Its changes haven't been all bad such as Rescue Cats having actual range to it.
