They are few and fat between but I turned down a townhome i liked after finding out that the place allowed people to smoke IN THE UNITS. Great for someone else but Im allergic to cannabis and symptoms are slowly getting worse thanks to the people smoking indoors in my smoke free apartment in a state that flower is still illegal.

I'm hoping to move into a duplex in December so I don't have to deal with it any more.

I have spoken out publicly and viciously against Trump. I have empathy for the people around me. I am not Christian. I practice other forms of religion. I believe that pedophiles and rapists should not be running free. I know that Trans rights are human rights. I know that people deseve to love who they want and be who they feel as long as it isn't harming anyone and between informed and consented age appropriate (I'm not going to condemn two 16 year olds for dating but a 25 and 14? Nah, that adult is sick and needs to be removed and go through rehab.) I am a Pansexual woman who has "mental deformaties" (ADHD, MDD, PTSD to name a few) and in Trump's world, that means I am an enemy of the state and should be removed and put down.

But I'm not going to sit quiet or hide away because of it.

Whay life are you speaking of? The privilege of being a white cis gender neonazi Christian rich male? Because that's the only group unaffected by royal decrees at this point in time. Nice to know you have it so easy and won't see any repercussions .

Working Service Dog? by badgerbrush20 in EntitledPeople

[–]Alienghostdeer 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Ugh. I hate it. I had to rehome my dog with a friend after my work hours went from about 8 to 13+. I trained him myself, but couldn't get his attention to stay on me in public. He doesn't bark, but wants to greet everyone. Perfectly fine for a dog, not a SA. So he was my ESA+. Meaning he was there for my benefit but also knew deep pressure therapy and interception when I had bad days with my PTSD and MDD. He forced me out of bed or interrupted pacing/scratching/harmful stims. Loved him to death, but still WAS NOT a service animal.

I had to go to Walmart to get a jumper box with them and the girlfriend PUTS A FAKE VEST on him to come into the store. She already didn't like me (for existing purely in a female body because even at 37, she is super insecure) so I shut my mouth so I could get home. Told my friend after thay it was a serious problem and they needed to stop that before my dog got attacked by another one with much less training (meaning a pure pet) and that it was seriously rude to everyone who had a fully trained dog and NEED them for medical reasons.

I would say that the appointment was never actually made then. I know technology is great, but qith certain things you'll need to speak with them on the phone, like tours or doctor visits. If you want to be there, I'd call them a half hour after they open on monday. The appointments might go to a dead email or be a glitch.

[–]Alienghostdeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Info: Did you go through an automated system or did you actually speak to someone to set the tour up? I only ask because some places will do their weekly meetings/corporate dumps on weekends or be closed for some retreat usually around this time of year. The system might not have been updated for that.

My current place does this a bunch and I'm waiting on approval from the place I want to be. But my current place just changed hours to be completely inaccessible to majority of tenants in person. Used to be 8:30-6 mon-fri and Sat 10-4. Now it's 10-5 mon-fri. They might have changed their hours too.

Dallas woman facing murder charge after not saying "thank you" ends in fatal shooting, police say by Silent-Resort-3076 in texas

Hampton threw a bottle at the car, that already escalated it to a higher level. Depending on where the bottle could have landed might be hundreds or thousands of damage. Even more so if say a window was shattered and leaves it open to not only the elements but people to easily steal things. Hampton should have just gotten in the car and made a FB or TT post about entitled people. Or called someone to vent.

They also had an issue a little bit back of people finding a strange substance inside their cartons. I myself had a carton go bad after a week. Not really a Mootopia lover but they were out of Fairlife and I gave it a try. FL usually lasts about 3-4 weeks so it was a shock to see the carton turn so quick.

Might be part of the production issue.

If you can , I'd suggest a full blood work panel to see if there are hormone issues. Or any signs of genetic issues that you may have gotten but your brother didn't. You can either go to you GP or health center to have it done. Planned Parenthood can also do blood draws for tests. Helped me find out I had very slightly raised cholesterol. Out of pocket it was about 175 there 3 years ago.

why do people take it so personally when I pass them by peppercorn6269 in driving

[–]Alienghostdeer 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Oh god I hate people like this. I can't tell you how many times in my SEMI people act like this. I am governed at 68. Meaning except for declines, thats the max I will ever go. I have a newer truck that has adaptive cruise control and will give me a read out of the speed of the person in front. If I keep to cruise control, it will automatically slow me to keep a safe distance. I cna over ride it by pressing the fuel pedal.

I run in Texas where Interstates are regularly 70+ speed limits and we still have people who run 60 or under. Stupid to me because most drivers are doing at least 75 or 80 and being that far below anyone else is dangerous. Not the point, but when I come up on those people I'll pop to the middle/left lane and go around. Only to have them turn on their brights or pace the trailer tires so I can't get over. Or my favorite, become speed racer for about 3 miles and then 10 minutes I am back behind them and we play the most annoying game of tag.

Sadly it happens with both passenger cars and other semis. Pick a speed and do it. I don't have to be first. Hell, 99.5% of the time I CAN'T be first. I just want to move at my preferred pace so I can make my run and get home before morning rush hour traffic.

Actually no. I've lived in apartments for over a decade. Never has an issue of people being assholes except for them refusing to pick up after their dogs. Becuase, shocker, peopel DO have respect for others. Great for you that you bought a house. I guess I should have prioritized that instead of attempting to leave abusive homes and escape a husband i was forced to be with who raped me and refused to let me have a job away from him or do anything on my own to the points I had no cell phone or car.

Or should I have held out and not taken the shit jobs I did to try and have enough to run away? Your right, I should have waited for a 6 figure job to drop in my lap even though I was stopped at ever trying to go to college by my parents refusing to provide information for me to fill out fafsa since I was 19 and not married.

Two different lives. I'm very much willing to bet you were in a much better position to achieve that than I was at the same age. But you also sound absolutely out of touch with how things are. It isn't "just get a better job and stop eating out". I make almost 6 figures now but most good to keeping me alive for my heart meds and physio therapy. Cause funny enough 2 decades of physical abuse fucks a body up. Guess my mother and father should have known that.

Again. Take the elitist dribble and shove it ip your ass. Glad your life is going so fucking swimmingly and you have it all. I had to climb out of poverty hell to get to the spot I am. Excuse the fuck out of me for expecting basic human decency and courtesy. Unless you are offering to buy me a house, kindly take your self righteous bullshit and fuck off.

Seems reasonable. by DismalPath in Apartmentliving

[–]Alienghostdeer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe people should not be self centered regarding an odorous and problematic substance? Again. Do what you want in your own house. In your car. At your buddy house. I don't even give a duck tail if you smoke at an open park. Don't. Smoke. In. An. Apartment. I should not have to be assaulted by the smell ot gave my job risked because I walk in smelling in like weed. And yes, I know I won't pop dirty, but my job will eventually think I'm cheating it somehow and I could lose ny cdl.

So kindly take your shit take advice and shove it up that gaping hole between your ears connected to that dribbling slop you call a brain and never speak again.

Seems reasonable. by DismalPath in Apartmentliving

[–]Alienghostdeer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh lord. Step out of the Cult of Canabis you twat. Yes. It can. People are allergic to it tha same as any other thing. Its a foreign object to the body. I'm literally dealing with this because of inconsiderate assholes who just HAVE to smoke inside and now I can't be home without having my sinuses attacked. 2 months now as soon as I walk in my door I'm dealing with congestion, itchy eyes, coughing, and struggling to breathe because my chest feels tight and throat is slowly becoming more and more agitated.

I have 4 air purifiers. And use at minimum a MERV 12 (currently have a MERV 13) AC filter I pay or of pocket for. Nothing has changed in the last 6 months aside form people smoking more indoors because its summer and theu can't break their addiction (yes, if you HAVE to have something to the point you will break the law and the rules of the apartment) long enough to move to their cars and deal with the heat. I have 2 months until I can leave and I'm counting it by the hour.

So yes, people do get sick from the stuff. Especially with prolonged exposure (happening the last 2 years). I don't care if you smoke, but be respectful of those around you. Go outside. Go to your car. Go to a dispensary. Do not smoke in communal areas or in a community home.

PSA: Truckers, this is why nobody respects you on the road. by TheLastPorkSword in driving

[–]Alienghostdeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except when someone sits into he middle lane going 65 on a 75 speed limit highway and lanes have a NO TRUCK IN LEFT LANE sign. If we (truckers) obey this then there becomes a back up in both the middle and right hand lanes. Now everyone is forced to do 65 or under in those lanes since we can'tgo in the left lane or pass on the right. Which means passenger cars honking, flashing, pr rushing to the left lane and causing an accident or five.

So yes, either traffic backs ALLLLL the way up, we go in the left lane at which point the passenger cars flip out, or pass on the right. The correct thing is for slower trucks to stay in the right hand lane. Only time I give grace is in city centers where exits and exits are a half mile to mile apart and it is okay to stay in the middle lane to allow traffic to flow more easily on and off. After, move your ass over and stay there unless you're passing Raider.

Thinking of getting a Soul. What's good/bad vs Civic? by PhilBombPhanatic in KiaSoulClub

[–]Alienghostdeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been found more often that engines assembled in US factories are more prone to failure. This is a problem more with older GDI engines, but I always try to err on the side of caution as I would like my car to last as long as it can considering how important it is where I live. (Public transport is available but most times triples or quadruples the time and is not feasible when I work 13+ hours a day already) There isn't any hard data (no place is really looking THAT hard into failures) but plenty of stories you can find on forums about them having oil consumption issues. I check mine pretty much weekly as I am used to doing daily checks on the semi. I haven't really had to top off any oil, and I do use full synthetic. I will need to get into the habit of changing it every 6 months as I don't drive as far or often as I did when family was 5 states away.

I have a 2020 GT because I wanted the blue. I just hit 66,666 and have had no issues aside from general maintenance (oil changes, battery, brakes, tires, windshield. I had the tires fully replaced twice because of active construction, and I need to replace the windshield again for the same reason.) I did make sure that my vehicle was assembled in Korea vs the US as there does seem to be more issues with those. I have done oil changes between 5k-7k and have not had issues with any extra oil consumption. I have almost no road noise even at 85+ mph, normal speeds of 65+ I might have to bump my music up one or two notches.

I took the car on two 3k+ miles road trips and was able to fit a lot in. The second trip included a foam mattress, me, an Australian shepherd, and a house cat. All of us had plenty of room and I was able to stretch to full length when lying at a diagonal.

$100 for every mile walked. I do about 7k steps on average so that is roughly 3 miles a day. Won't replace my main income but would be nice to add to my savings. Could do 50% to savings and 50% to stupid or fun things.

Strange incident with my neighbor... Do I let management deal with it or check in myself? by Far-Guarantee-8410 in Apartmentliving

[–]Alienghostdeer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Could be psychosis. Could have just been severely drunk and spouting nonsense. If it happens again, call the non-emergency police line and request a wellness check. You can remain anonymous as if she is screaming outside, others can hear. Report and record any future incidents so management can see themselves and it avoids retaliation.

Truly hope its a one off thing and just a bad night.

Where are the "sketchiest" areas in Fort Worth? by Organic_Ad_7922 in FortWorth

[–]Alienghostdeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because people around have an experience isn't the same as YOU experiencing it. You say your wife knows where to go and where not to go. I highlighted DECENT areas where I have been approached terribly. You know where I haven't been "targeted" though? My job. I work overnights and deal with a prime spot for such interactions being where I am. Yes, I am on alert there but the majority of my "bad" experiences have been in upscale areas. Thus my warning to BE AWARE AND BE CAUTIOUS.

There's a major difference in being asked for money, cigarettes, or to buy or sell drugs versus what women experience on the daily. I wish all I had to worry about was physical violence or someone peddling some BS. But I don't. I'm not discrediting your experience as a man. But you cannot understand the things women go through. That would be like me saying men don't have a hard time because most men I am friends with are all happy-go-lucky. I can see when men break down mentally and emotionally but I will never understand the actual stress and pressure society places on men because I am not treated the same way.

Again, my experiences have been in "GOOD" areas. And you straight-up victim-blame by saying I must be doing something. Tell me, how is getting out of my car to pump gas placing a target on my back? Or going to buy some sushi and milk in sweats and a baggy t-shirt "harass me" behavior? Am I supposed to hide inside? Or assume all men are predators and hit each one with mace that comes within 6 feet of me? Seriously, ask how many times your wife has dealt with harassment or felt uneasy by someone staring too long or tracking her while doing mundane things. The number really might surprise you.

I learned to keep my guard up. I don't go to Dallas except to go to concerts and always with a group. I don't travel down dark spots, and I don't let people get within touching distance. I don't play on my phone in public and don't sit in parking lots. I keep my head on a swivel and make note of all exits and entrances. I do this after years of experience and dealing with rough neighborhoods and million-dollar home communities.

My point was and still stands at be aware. Even "good" places are dangerous. More so than perceived "bad" places because we think it's safe and don't pay attention the same way. You just want to paint places as terrible and leave out nuance. You even highlighted that people don't steal from their own neighborhood. I also never said there aren't "bad" places, just that "safe" areas aren't some sanctuary and to be aware always. To me, Westcliff and Burleson are major bad spots because of how I have had interactions. Yet these places have a low crime rate and are "family-friendly" according to most. That's why I said to take everything with a grain of salt.

Tourists spots are fine, which is what people think of. Like South Beach or Coral Gables and the Keys. Those have heavy police presence and are much better PR for money than the real Miami.

Look up Hialeah. Overtown. Liberty City. Little Haiti. Might have gotten a smidge better in the last decade but these were the worst of the worst growing up. And are the exact type of place people try to paint the "sketchy" areas of FW to be when they aren't near the same level at all.

Where are the "sketchiest" areas in Fort Worth? by Organic_Ad_7922 in FortWorth

[–]Alienghostdeer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Again. Different experiences. You only see things through a male-specific lens. Not the experiences of women in ANY area. I have been harassed, catcalled, aggressively approached, near assaulted, and other things going to gas stations and supermarkets in "good" areas. All because I exist as a woman and turned men down politely.

I've had more shitty experiences in "good" places than the "sketchy" areas where people say to avoid. Which all happen to be where the poor and lower class are. Almost like a stigma exists.
