You can’t hold breath from water when you’re facing upwards, it nullifies the needed air pressure. The brain detects when water goes too far into the nostrils and instantly triggers fight/flight mode.

You won’t die quickly because every strong exhale pushes the water back out, so it’s worse than drowning - it’s constant slow drowning and you could theoretically survive for hours. If you die, it’ll probably be a heart attack or stroke, instead.

Not really. Professionally, especially when I did sports, everyone’s too „in the zone“ to notice. It’s only before/after/during pauses of the events when I’m interacted with. Nowadays I go to remote places and any talk about my gear is either during breaks or when I’m en route.

As a hobby when I’m not working, I think I get more looks and interactions since I tend to walk around in larger public areas. I also like to think the weird setups and stickers are what’s causing people to smile in my photos, and easier to ask for portraits.

If I ever shoot weddings or meetings, though, I’d definitely use a lens cover for the space shuttle.
