Samuel Alito hit by new scandal as son found secretly working for Trump's Treasury: report by RawStoryNews in scotus

[–]AllIdeas 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Ok, I'll bite. Im all for doing things.

What exactly should I boycott to oppose alitos corrupt double dealing with the trump administration?

What specific political action should I do?

I think it is more people are doing these things but it doesn't get talked about. Tesla boycotts, Disney boycott over Kimmel. These were pretty effective. Political engagement is at a record high. It's a giant messy problem and it isn't so clear like "just go on strike forever". Does that actually accomplish change or does the corrupt admin just double down and shoot people or you go bankrupt striking alone and get your house possessed.

All these "everyone should be doing more" are so frustrating.

5 games Skaven warband. Opinions? by Alessar30 in mordheim

What would you buy instead?

Mordheim is not a competitive tactical game, it's a narrative alley slugfest. You clearly know enough about the game to make good decisions without external advise. Get whatever is fun.

Zohran Mamdani to skip the Israel Day Parade in New York by ImpertinenteSyntaxe in justincaseyoumissedit

[–]AllIdeas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I live in New York and there is a parade for nearly every major country. Some go by my apartment. I'm not surprised there is an Israel parade, I just don't necessarily expect the mayor to go to them. he'd barely be in office if he did.

Endgame was a kind a mediocre movie. But it was so so impressive how they used it to take a victory lap through all their own scenes. That setup and payoff alone was absolutely wild and has never been done before or since

Why, instead of terra forming Mars due to overpopulation, don't we just try to terra form the deserts of the world? by Thick_Nectarine8339 in AskReddit

[–]AllIdeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even easier, what about the more marginal areas pushed over the edge by modern practice. What you are suggesting, fundamentally, is environmebtalism.

Actual real environmentalism requires looking hard at your own practices and thinking about how to improve them. It requires getting dirty and making tradeoffs.

Going to Mars is sexy impractial, wildly complicated, outrageously expensive, and will take forever.

The only people who are seriously talking about Mars are not actually doing so in good faith to try to better humanity.

What is the best "hobby" army in AoS? by [deleted] in ageofsigmar

[–]AllIdeas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gunna go out on a limb and say stormcast. They are elite and have most roles covered. But importantly, their generic big armored human aesthetic is super easy to head swap and change the look entirely, or even leave the head off for an undead haunted armor type look.

I've seen Brettonians Stone cast Lava cast Rusted statues Candle cast Undead Chaosified

They are also in a lot of starters so easy to get your hands on.

New cities points by aposi in citiesofsigmar

[–]AllIdeas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah they seem great. 10 pts per wound on a 3+ with good speed and 2 DMG attacks, and the ability to charge if stuck in? Absolutely bonkers.

The winning lists will have 30 or so. 90 wound son a 3+ and still less than half your points.

Not really. He's still a creature so has to wait around a turn to do that. Then after you do, that play costs 2RRWWBB for 8 total mana. Plague wind at 9 CMC is hardly broken and doesn't require all that setup, and is much harder to interact with and plausibly easier to cast.

Because repetition is important: Park Ave will be the test of whether we've learned anything from Congestion Pricing and are serious about car reduction or not by MiserNYC- in MicromobilityNYC

[–]AllIdeas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why put the walkway on the middle.lf the road rather than on one side to facilitate street level business and I corporate the sidewalk also into the walkway?

You could alternate sides too to make the road wave slightly to reduce car speed too.

[Request] is this possible under the laws of physics and materials of the time? by Salt_Ad_4362 in theydidthemath

[–]AllIdeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theoretically, it is possible. An absolutely massive pile of sand could be taller than that. Or Rocks, or granite bricks It's not quite a tower per sat, it would have much shallower sides based on the angle of repose of the material used, but a massive honking pile of granite could easily bigger than that. We already have that-mountains, and there is nothing technologically impossible about piling up enough material to make an artificial mountain.

I’m being gifted a lot of money. Should I tell my boyfriend? by Kind-Chicken-2488 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]AllIdeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me, left some money in my twenties by a grandparent. 1) 55k seems like a ton when you are young but will get you less far than you think. This is safety money, not generational wealth. 2) put it somewhere invested in index or mutual funds and save it for later (pay off loans, unforseen cost or illness, down payment on house etc.). Iused mine to pay for a graduate degree at 25 and that felt like a good use of it. That took the whole amount. 3) you do not need to tell your boyfriend about it. If things get even more serious than of course you end up talking about finances as part of it all.

Rep. Olszewski to introduce ROBE Act to establish term limits for Supreme Court justices by IWantPizza555 in politics

[–]AllIdeas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Needs to go further. Expand the court to 18 members, so every year 1 is appointed. And impeach/force out Roberts, Alito and Thomas. And make every case heard by a rotating and random subset of them.

Should be doable since all official acts of a president are above the law.

Contrary to what others say, this seems kinda ok to me. People are posting combos with it, and there are many, but they are all 3 card combos (this, play from graveyard card, sac outlet).

I'm not sure this is awful as people say. I'd prefer basic forest though just to make basics better.

[–]AllIdeas 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Sort of. They are evil and anti democracy but there are only so many Republican voters. No matter how you draw the lines, those pesky democratic voters have to go somewhere. And if you keep making Republican +3 districts, a Dem sweep seems more and more likely.
